I have tried to use the help page but nothing works !! SO I will ask you here,
How can I remove a whole family tree that has been dumped on to my family tree, ????
It has taken me years to build this up I don't mind the odd corrections and additions that people do, but
A WHOLE FAMILY TREE are you trying to drive me nuts
0 -
@kLily1 When you say a "whole family tree" has been added, do you mean there is a branch that has been connected to one particular person, or several branches added to several people (ie, a single branch added to person A, another branch added to person B, etc)?
If you have an extensive branch (tree) added to one person, then it is relatively simple: Go to the person where the addition was made and edit the relationship to remove the person that was wrongly added. That will remove all the ancestors in the line associated with the erroneous addition.
If you have multiple branches added to multiple people, you will have to go to each individual person and edit to detach the erroneous person.
If you have had a sprinkling of erroneous additions made to several different people, you will have to edit the people individually.
I suspect from your post that there was one person added incorrectly to a person in your family, and thus their entire tree was added to yours. That would be the first remedy action I listed above.
Hope I have interpreted correctly and hope this helps.
R, Clark

I need a direct contact, not through some "community page" that I can never find again to report ordiances missing that have been completed. It happens all the time. Do not want duplicates!
"Feed back" was so much better. This new way of getting help is awful. And I've been a FamilySearch (etc) consult for 55 years

Is there a way to download or export a GEDCOM file from my ancestors?
0 -
FamilySearch allows for syncing with other software products. There isn't a GEDCOM download feature. Check out RootsMagic, Ancestral Quest, and Legacy Family Tree for personal tree programs that sync with FamilySearch.

Without allowing changes of any kind on your part. Communicated by chat the guest and I. So the guest would give me some key data while he watches on his monitor how the changes occur in the people of the tree. This avoids the need for the guest to open a personal account and have to make their own tree in order to connect with the work that is already done. I think it would help if they could first see how the software works with their ancestors' data so that they would decide to have a personal account with Family Search. Many people find it very difficult to open an account as easy as the process is. Mainly the elderly.

Hello Family Search,
I'm trying upload a photo of a Headstone of a grave for Rufus Edmond Green Memorial ID: (KWVW-CGN) B: 17 Jan 1882 D: 17 Jan 1882 BUR: Hood Cemetery, Royal, Blount County, Alabama, USA
It want upload, because the system thinks that it is a Duplicate of another Photo that was used on his Sister's Grave. Find A Grave.com is using this Photo at his Gravesite. Weather it is of the same Headstone or not I don't know, but I do know that the system should not reject a Photo just because it resembles one that looks like it.
Note: A lot of the old Headstones that were used in the 1800's are no longer readable as when they were new. Or the family may have reused the same Headstone Marker for more than one child. It could be engraved on all four sides, giving four children the same Headstone with only one marker to show their names on!

I have tried to reprint several name cards which your system says I printed but they did not in fact print in the first place. I can't find out how to reprint them and it is frustrating.

@samuelpatrickjohnsondavenport --In my experience, I have just gone back and selected the print option again, and it has printed the card.

Hello.. my Grandmother's father is incorrectly cited as William Duggan. It says right on the 1911 Canadian census that the father of Isabella Duggan is named James. How does one go about correcting this?
