How do we make corrections on "The New Discovery Page". My grandfathers (#LYY2-ZRY) page states his father #GWQ9-ZDS and mother #GWQ9-N8H were married at 50 and 49 years of age. Some how a mistake in some ones subtraction was made as 1854 birth and 1874 marriage equals 20 years of age. A way to make corrections would be a very helpful tool for the page.

Brother Nielson, Technology is such a struggle for this older person. I get so totally frustrated. Just finding the correct space for reading and seeing the place to click and have it click and take me to a place that is helpful is a major challenge! Thank you for your extensive knowledge of both family history and technology. I have been working on family history since being baptized at age 17 as a senior in high school as the first member in our family. I am now 78 pushing 79. Changes are never easy, and they are coming so quickly at this time. Working on family units that I feel so close to and having others make additions and changes that I feel are wrong (I feel in my heart that the Holy Ghost prompts me when I make a discovery concerning my family - I'm sure others do too) and I can't alter those changes is totally frustrating and disheartening! I am working so hard to learn all I can about not only the tech stuff, but the culture and my family members! It seems that some folks are only concerned with finding a name they can take to the temple like a feather in their cap. Each is an actual person! Each is a member of our special and unique family! If we are praying first, listening to promptings, learning all we can, and correcting our errors as best we can. Thank you for your knowledge, insight, and taking the time and effort to share. Sincerely, Sister Laurie B. Anderson, Conrad Ward, Conrad, Montana.
P.S. right now I am attempting to connect the correct Stewarts from Scotland together - Jameses, Margarets, etc.

David, just started entering my family and have placed people in the wrong place. Listed wrong name for one daughter and grandmother for my mother. How do I edit my mistakes?

The Ancestor Discovery Pages are built automatically by a computer process. The information for the these pages comes from the standardized dates and places on the person’s detail page in the FamilySearch Family Tree. If there are errors in the Discovery Page, they are also in the Tree. Fix them in the Tree and they will reflect correctly on the Discovery Page. The Discovery Pages are refreshed every couple of weeks.

For many days I have been looking at court records. Using Catalog, I was immediately able to locate the county and choose court records. This was simple. Over night everything has changed. I do not want to make a family tree. How do I resume going to the catalog, choose a county, and select the area of interest--court records, church records, taxation, vital records etc. It was so very simple.

Atenciosamente,

Yours sincerely,

When you on on the Descendancy view, on the top right side of the browser window, click on the filter button. It looks like this:
You can then filter # of generations, and the types of icons you want to see or not see.

Someone mistakenly merged my great, great aunt, Cora I. Van Dusen with another woman, Cora M. Barber who both married men with the last name of Tait and were born about the same time 200 miles apart in Michigan. They had completely different families, maiden names, spouses and children. This is the second time that someone has deleted a family member from my family tree.
My Aunt, Cora I. Van Dusen's work had been done back in the 1940's. I deleted the relationship and started over to put my Aunt back with her correct family, now her record is being treated as brand new and it looks like her ordinances need to be redone. Is there anyway to take her completed ordinances from her original KJ4H-151 and put it on her current GXFP-Z3G? The computer program said since she was merged that it has all been deleted.
Thank you to anyone who can please help me. ~ Mary Bennett

The instruction and explanation about help menue are much too confusing. I can not anywhere finde solution to s simple question " How to I open the reply to a message I sent to a contact" It gives over 1000 anwsers. Also The above name "contact us" does not provide a link. SO how can I find a reply to my question. I can not open the anwser given by my contact from my message.!!!

The problem with merging Cora Van Dusen and Cora Barber is that Cora Barber's temple ordinances HAVE NOT ever been done but it appears as though it has been done because of the merge with Cora Van Dusen whose work had been completed in the 1940's.

When you upload a GEDCOM to FamilySearch, the file exists in the "Genealogies" section of the website. You can access your tree here: https://www.familysearch.org/search/genealogies You can find this directly from the Search menu, then select Genealogies. Once on the page, scroll down to "Search for a specific tree" and enter in the keywords for your tree. I entered in Daisy Luella and got the option for Daisy Luella Whitley Family Tree. Here is the direct link to that tree: https://www.familysearch.org/search/genealogies/submission/3/MMFN-Q56
GEDCOM trees are searchable, but not editable on FamilySearch.
If you want to copy your GEDCOM into the FamilySearch Family Tree, you can do so one person at a time - to make sure you are not adding duplicates to the FamilySearch Family Tree. It is recommended that the GEDCOM contain 100 or less persons for this compare/copy feature.
Please see this Help Center article for more information:
