Dear David, I know family search is a free site. However, I thought the information would be reliable. I just got a punch in the gut when following my pedigree Mariota Home, John Edward Tower did not have a son Christopher John Hume Tower. John Edward Tower dates were 1495-1574. I was getting my family excited over all the history we had lineage to. I even contacted the Weddenburn Castle Home Clan for membership. Now I have egg on my face for trusting a free site. I just alerted everyone that it is to used as hints and possibilities not set in stone. I will still use your site but with extreme caution. I would be prudent to alert others of the not exact data....I did see some areas where I was warn data was still forth coming. The names I mention had no warning except birth of child was after the age of 50. I am sadly disappointed.

I am NOT impressed by the New "HELP" options..... as there is NO DIRECT WAY TO REPORT MAJOR ISSUES WHEN "REVIEWING NAMES FOR THE 1950 CENSUS".
I AM SUPPOSED TO BE REVIEWING NAMES IN THE STATE OF INDIANA..... BUT THE SHEETS I AM RECEIVING ARE ALL FOR THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA.
I DO NOT MIND WORKING ON ANOTHER STATE, INSTEAD OF INDIANA, HOWEVER IT CONCERNS ME AS THE URL ADDRESS CLAIMS I AM LOOKING AT 1950 CENSUS SHEETS FOR INDIANA!!

On the search option the first name has been reduced and does not allow me to put a first name in. It will not reset properly and I have turned my computer off and back on.

I am Carol Jane Edge Swindell from Oklahoma. I have been asked to add my father but for some reason my father has been noted as living without any other information. I cannot edit my own entry which I did not make. My father was born in 1905 and died in 1971. (I was with him) AND...
My mother was only married once... to my Father, Paul Wilbur Edge, Sr.
So how do I make the edits? If I need to take the information down completely, how do I do that?
I am hoping to hear from you soon in that I am already 10 years older than when my father died. Thank you.😎

Thank you for your question. FamilySearch Family Tree is a shared tree that all the users contribute to. You can disconnect relationships if you have evidence they didn't exist with your personal family. However, you cannot delete individuals from the shared tree as they may be connected correctly to other users.

I am looking for Willem Gijsbers born 11-06- 1868 in Beesel Netherlands. In 1890 he entered a 6-year voluntary commitment in the colonial army. In 1898 a passport with 'c.v.g.g.' (certificate for good conduct) was issued in the Dutch East Indies in Padang. Furthermore, information was provided to the mayor of Horst in 1926 and to M.H. Gijsbers.

There are multiple places to search on FamilySearch. You can search in the FamilySearch Tree and you can search in the FamilySearch Record collections. Both places allow you to search by name.
