How can I delete the names that come up on my sign-in list? When I start typing my name, it gives me choices. One time I accidentally typed in my password on the line for my user name and now it comes up as one of my choices when I long in. How can I delete that information?

At the bottom of the list, you should see an option for manage passwords for your browser. Click that and go to your browser settings and remove the ones you no longer want.

Sorry if this is redundant - am confused about posting.
We've been unsuccessful in finding in the 1915 North Dakota census listing of orphans in orphanages. Specific to Fargo and Grand Forks. Thank you.

My tree is on FamilySearch with a Firefox browser yet when I login with MS Edge, I have no tree. Why does it not show up with a different browser?

The last name of my Father's family, specifically my Aunt Dorothy Pearl has been changed to Schutte which is wrong, the correct name is SchuLte. The name was changed by Luke Bresil Ackermann after seeing the census report in which the crossbar of the t was long and covered the l as well as the t. My questions are : 1. How does this get corrected? and 2. who is Luke and how come he could change the original and correct entry of the Schulte family made by a direct blood relative? I would like to know how one can correct this type of mistake so the entries of the family don't wind up having the wrong last name, too?

@Barbara Grofe, You can do the correcting yourself. To correct the spelling- Go to your aunt's person detail page. In the VITALS section click the Edit next to her name or click the little pencil icon if you are using FamilySearch's new person page. On the next screen type the correct spelling Schulte in the name field, then click the Save button.
It may be possible to Edit the census too. Under the Sources tab click on that Census then click the URL. On the next screen find the little pencil/or word EDIT. Click on the Edit and follow the instructions.
Remember FamilySearch Family Tree is an Open Edit model. We do not have private trees (other than for the Living) . This is one Shared Tree, anyone can add to, source & edit any profile.

I recently purchased an ancestry account. All my info is in familysearch.org. How do I import fs into ancestry? I do not own any other genealogy software programs. Thanks in advance!

Why change things that already work? Where we have to learn to navogate around a new format? Some of us are old and don't see the need for this kind of change.

My tree has been compromised. My father is in a line unknown to me, and I am sure that it is not accurate. I am receiving information about people who are not my ancestors. How do I correct this?

Family Search has made several errors transcribing the information from the 1950 Census. Since there is no edit option I can access to correct the transcription I am not attaching that record to my family tree.
Transcribed my grandfather as widowed in 1950, he was not and the original record clearly shows that and also added a neighbor to the household that is clearly shown living with his own family several lines below and not grouped with my family.

Upon further inspection........there are multiple errors in the Family Search transcription of the 1950 Census regarding my family.
Too many errors to list them all.....another example.....my mother transcribed as a widow although the original census document clearly shows she is married and living with my father.
There needs to be an easy access edit button as the 1950 Census as transcribed is so full or errors it is better off ignored rather than give credence to so much misinformation.

@Nancy M. Aiken, why would you not attached the "record?" The source image is Correct, in your words, "clearly shows." When an image source is available as it is with the 1950 US Census, the index itself is just a finding tool. You should attach the image which contradicts the incorrect index and shows all who view it what data is on the actual source image.
At some point you may be able to edit the index transcription. There are incorrect transcriptions with every Index I know. But an incorrect index does not invalidate correct data.

I want to know how to proceed to not allow these changes! I find that letting other descendants "participate and share" is turning into "destroying" what develops through years of research.
I started the Tree in 2017, and I'm seeing this invasion! Changing names, documents, and authoring texts, annotations and custom events!
So, I see that Unification and the possibility of many interfering in the same Tree, has become a Problem!

My greatgrandfather Jan Daniel Momberg NV7 married Engela Elizabeth Liebenberg in Aberdeen according to the original marraige certificate.
Family search has elaborated on the place as being in Scotland. This is incorrect.
The marraige took place in Aberdeen, Cape Province, South Africa.
Editing was disallowed on the family search dicumentation

@EStanton1, if you are talking about a Family Tree entry then someone may be able to help if you will post Daniel Momberg or Engela Elizabeth Liebenberg's PID. That's the ID next to their name and looks something like XXXX-XXX. It sounds like the wrong Standardized Place was chosen.
But if you are talking about Indexing then you should post to the Indexing category below for a better answer. https://community.familysearch.org/en/categories/indexing-support

How to remove your version of my ancestors that don’t match my tree.. Ancestry has a accept, maybe or not sure. Your search acts as if it’s final and factual when it’s not. I’ve asked before and your site continues and creates miss spelling of names and changes surnames. Puzzled and it makes you not want to continue because I would be sharing false information to my history.
