I want to lodge a complaint but there is no place to do so, unless it so confusingly hidden away that it is extremely hard to find.

@Susan Anneveldt, you can start by posting your issue in the Community area.

Need to know if a child whose father was never known and was given the last name of his mother can be sealed to his uncle and aunt with whom he lived for many years.?
0 -
@Flora Schaller, your question can be answered if you will post it in the Temple Category. You can start the process by creating a parent-child relationship (Add Parents) in Family Tree. Then “+Add Relationship Type” of Foster or Guardianship depending on the circumstances. You can get further instructions in the Temple Category when you post there.

@Flora Schaller, the Temple Category can be found with this link: https://community.familysearch.org/en/categories/temple Someone should contact you privately to discuss your exact situation.

Hello, Is there a way to transfer or share information from ohter sites such as ancestry.com so I don't have to re-enter all my information> Thanks for your help!
0 -
@RomaniStateman Thaler, first understand that FamilySearch's Family Tree is different from Ancestry in a very important way. In Ancestry you have your own personal tree, only you can make changes to it but in FamilySearch everyone shares the SAME tree. You don't add or change your own tree in FamilySearch. When you make a change you are changing the one and only tree that everyone else works from. So you what that information to be accurate and sourced correctly. You add individuals only if they are not already in Family Tree. You add sources or make other changes one at a time. So really in my opinion, one at a time is the safer way to go over some kind of Gedcom file transfer in bulk. First step is to just look in Family Tree and see what individuals are already there. People have been working on this One tree for many years now. It is our job to correct mistakes in it, but we do not have to reinvent the wheel each time a new user starts. Welcome aboard!

Hi. Details for my grandparents have been amended by someone else. The person did a merge and the id is the same but the dates, places and all other information has been changed. The same with my grandmother's details. I have all the information pertaining to their IDs, birth dates, death dates and the dates that their baptisms, confirmations etc was done. How do I undo the changes made?
I am surprised that the changes were allowed especially when there are ordinances linked to them.
I initially did not want to change anything just in case there was a connection but after contacting the person that made the changes, there is none so I would like to do the amendments as soon as possible. Please assist

I am really discouraged with Family Search. Now when I log in and ask for the family tree, the computer comes up with the last person I was looking at yesterday or the day before and they show up. I used to be able to sign on, click on Tree and my tree would come up. Why has this changed? I spend time trying to find my tree. So much so, that I don't even want to go on Family search anymore. Will Family Search continue to be this way? I am one in the branch that helps to teach people how to research.

@tinatabor1 , up towards the top and to the right you will see an icon of a little house/home. Click it and the display will then have you as the starting person.
Also you may want to join the New person page Group, where you can make comments about upcoming changes before they are released.
https://community.familysearch.org/en/group/316-new-person-page
From any Person/Detail page you can view the new pages in development. Just click “Go to New Person Page” to view or work with them then you can go back to the current page by clicking “ go back to old person page”

How do I start a tree for a family that is not mine
0 -
@JohnRecker1, First always remember that there is only ONE SHARED TREE not individuals trees. The small exception is that everyone has their own private area for LIVING individuals.
What I would do is check FamilySearch to see if there is at least one deceased person of their family already in the tree and start building from there. Most people will have some relative 2 or 3 generations back that will be in the tree already.
I’m hesitate to explain other methods, not knowing your level of expertise. You really need to go to familysearch.org, sign-in then click the little ? mark with a circle around it, then click Community then click FamilySearch Help, then click the Family Tree box and ask your question there.
Better yet if you can find a Family Center near you and sit down with a family history consultant and have a discussion. https://www.familysearch.org/centers/locations/
One other thing to be aware of is that if you enter in any Living for the other family, only you will be able to see them, no one else can see any Living person you create.

First I am not connected to FamilySearch in any way, I am just like you, a user of FamilySearch Family Tree, just posting here to try and help you out with some of your questions.
Just a general comment regarding the questions here. This is a BLOG forum post about FamilySearch's system for Finding Help and not really for Getting Help. Got it, so read the original post first to see where you can get your specific questions answered.
If you have comments or feedback about the "Simplified Menu", you can post those comments here and I presume @System will get back to you if you ask them/it to 😀
Click the Link to Read the full story located underneath the big photo at the very top of these discussions.

When there is incorrect information on your tree, how can you correct it?
0 -
@MHendricks1, It depends on what kind or information is incorrect. For a complete answer please post that question at this LINK: https://community.familysearch.org/en/categories/family-tree
And/or follow the guidance in the BLOG article at the top.

I find every thing on this site to be complicated to follow.
The information on my family is incorrect and I don't have time to struggle with trying to correct it.

@Anita Darice Taylor, for your image archive question, you are more likely to get help with that question by posting to the "Memories" category at https://community.familysearch.org/en/categories/memories
Or you may want to schedule a live one on one meeting via Google Meet at https://www.familysearch.org/en/fieldops/united-states-and-canada-contact-us

AGAIN!!!! I DON'T VIDEO CHAT!!!!! I DON'T HAVE THAT CAPABILITY, I JUST NEED TO SPEAK WITH SOMEONE OLD FASHIONED WAY ON THE PHONE!!! THIS IS STUPID AND RIDICULOUS!!'

I HAVE TRIED TO SEARCH FOR AN ANSWER TO MY QUESTION ALREADY THERE ARE NO ANSWERS AVAILABLE....I JUST WANT TO SPEAK WITH SOMEONE!!!!!!!!!!!!

@Anita Darice Taylor, you are posting in a BLOG. You are not going to get much help here.
If you want help with your question on moving multiple images to archive, post to the Memories section. https://community.familysearch.org/en/categories/memories
The phone support has been discontinued. We are all dealing with that. Even the Family History Centers are not able to phone.
Maybe a Moderator could direct Anita Darice Taylor to someone who can assist her with her issue?

Have you received the help you needed via the Memories category as shared by @Chas Howell ?
You can also email nasupport@familysearch.org to ask questions.
