Census records: "Suggested records to review" notification includes "Record Dismissed" hints

I have just received a notification "We found historical records that may include information about your relatives". When I open the "Suggested records to review", there are 9 hints. 7 of these are annotated "Record dismissed", and when I click on the links, they all result in a "We're unable to show this record" message. They are from the Scotland, Census, 1881, 1891 and 1901 collections, the England and Wales, Census, 1921 collection, and the England and Wales, National Register, 1939 collection.

  • Why are these records inaccessible?
  • Why are the hints described as "Record dismissed"? They do not appear in the "Dismissed Helps" tab of the profile.
  • Why do the hints appear at all in the notification?
  • Will the hints disappear in time?

@JulianBrown38 At least some of the collections in your list can be viewed on a church account but not on a public account. As I understand it, the hinting algorithm doesn't "know" whether the hints are for a member of the church. When it's a collection, such as the 1939 Register, that is restricted to church accounts, those of us with public accounts see the "dismissed" message.

See this thread on the 1939 Register:

And this one about Italian records that have been restricted:

    Hope this helps.
