Calendar campaign notification frequency
I have subscribed to the calendar campaign
https://www.familysearch.org/campaign/calendar
For a while, it worked, and I received all the events notifications, but sometimes I noticed missing notifications.
As workaround in the past year I have unsubscribed and subscribed again to the calendar campaign.

Today searching in this community i found this
I read that there is a "Notification frequency settings" option, but unfortunately, I cannot access it because I don't have any ancestor events in the Discoveries tab (I might have deleted all old notifications last month).
Using the network inspector, I analyzed a record hint notification in the Discoveries, and the POST request URL is:
https://www.familysearch.org/service/messaging/preferences/preferences/notifications/frequency?frequency=QUARTERLY&type=campaign_record-hints&channel=mailbox&sendNotification=false&tzOffset=2
I imagine there is a similar API for the calendar campaign with "frequency=DAILY", but I don't know the "type" field and other parameters.
Is there a way to change this setting, or i have to wait for next ancestor event notification and then change the frequency in that page?
I suggest improving the notification area under the profile settings page where to put all the available settings that are currently hidden.

Today I received a notification, so I was able to check the
Notification Frequency
settingSurprisingly, it is already set to
Send Each Ancestor Event
.
To test, I changed it toMonthly
and then back toSend Each Ancestor Event
.
The POST request URL is:
https://www.familysearch.org/service/messaging/preferences/preferences/notifications/frequency?frequency=DAILY&type=calendar&channel=mailbox&sendNotification=false&tzOffset=2
I will let you know if the next notifications arrive.
I have also noticed that some missed notifications issue on my parents' accounts.Furthermore, I have observed that notifications do not arrive for ancestors more than 5 generations back: on June 25th, my father's account received a notification about his 3rd great-grandfather (who is my 4th great-grandfather), but no notification arrived on my account.
If any developer could investigate this issue, I would be very grateful.

This is very helpful information. To help the engineers narrow their search, could you also provide a couple of specific examples of notifications you did not receive that you expected to receive?

I remember in particular my ancestor Stupino Giovanni Paolo (GNBB-TNW).
As I wrote in the previous message, I did not receive any notification regarding his birth on 2024-06-26on June 25th, my father's account received a notification about his 3rd great-grandfather (who is my 4th great-grandfather), but no notification arrived on my account.
Thank you for your attention,
I hope you can solve the problem soon.0 -
Another example: yesterday 2024-08-27, my mother's account received a notification about his 3rd great-grandfather (my 4th great-grandfather) Sacco Michele (GC6G-T84), but I didn't receive any notification.
It would be nice to be able to receive notifications regarding events of all ancestors, even those further back than 5 generations.
Thank you

@AlbertoRiella The engineers have thoroughly reviewed your issue with the campaign, and based on the system and the data they examined, everything appears to be functioning as expected.
We can confirm what you’ve already noticed: the calendar campaign does not send notifications for anything beyond the fifth generation. This is why your mother received the notification for Sacco Michele GC6G-T84, but you did not.
The engineers suggest that you "review birthdays and anniversaries shown on his calendar page, and contact support as soon as he fails to receive another expected notice.
The fresher the data, the more likely we are to be able to tell what happened. Also, if the patron sees a direct ancestor within 5 generations whose record has a properly formatted birthday or anniversary date but for which the event does not appear on the calendar page, the patron should contact support so that the problem can be addressed."
