Hi, since yesterday (3/27/2023) I have not been able to view profiles or family trees (if I click on a link). I'm using Safari 13.1.2 & wonder if it's just getting old. Any ideas? Thanks

Have you tried signing in Chrome or Edge to see if you view the same thing? Have you tried clearing cookies? If none of these work, please call us at 866-406-1830, so we can get a closer look.

@NMeehan1 Are either of these similar to what you are experiencing? https://community.familysearch.org/en/discussion/139453/pages-not-loading https://community.familysearch.org/en/discussion/141942/source-linker-not-working

Hi PABulfinch, Clearing cookies helped with some things (ie., I'm able to attach records to people); however, I've not trying Chrome or Edge yet (will need help with that). I have a feeling that my Mac (Version 10.13.6) &/or Safari (Version 13.1.2) may be getting old. But will try those soon. Thank you for responding.

Hi Maile L, Neither of those situations are exactly like mine... I'm on a Mac & using Safari. But they both resonate. Any other ideas are most welcome. Thank you for responding.

This could well be a browser issue. FamilySearch says they support the current version of a browser and the one just below that. Safari is currently at version 16.3, so anything below 15 is going to start having trouble.
Firefox is a good option if you cannot update Safari. Go to: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/mac/ to download it. Their site says it will run on OS 10.12 and higher.

Hi Gordon Collett, Thanks for responding & the suggestion. I tried Chrome (based on a previous suggestion by PABulfinch) & it worked! Hopefully, it'll work for a while. If not, I'll try Firefox.

Good to hear. You should be in good shape with Crome or Firefox until they stop updating because of needing a newer operating system.
Mac are great because they really do last a long time. I have a Performa 6400 in the basement that if I set it up runs just fine with it's macOS 7.5. It ran PAF great. Besides running some pretty fun old games, it makes a good doorstop now. However I do hope you are keeping frequent back ups of your hard-drive. If you are using a machine that won't go over OS 10.13, it is getting older and the hard drive going out is your biggest concern.

Hi there I am member of the church I have to say that with the issue that you with certain issue with Browser the one I would suggest and I would Recommend Goggle Chrome all ways keep your Brower up to date at all times google will put new things inside there browser to make sure run smoothly with out any Tech issues But if there Tech Issue you can report to google Chrome to Microsoft Edge is really good to use to Plus it always good Idea to update your browser to plus another thing to consider is to remove all the extension that you have some times that caused internet to be damaged to I can understand that many people have issue with ad verts coming up on there screen to which can cause a lot more issues to however the best thing to do is to use Sophos free Tool Sophos will catch the Cookies and other things and any adverts that you might clicked online Sophos will found them clean it off from your laptop Hard drive to plus also Sophos Provide there very own Sophos Virus Protection to https://home.sophos.com/en-us Free Tools Link to https://www.sophos.com/en-us/free-tools the one that you need is the Clean and Scan that's only one you need to use that will work beside the Sophos Home Premier to and it will work along side each other to so if there any new things online it will find before it happens on the Laptop to. Sophos has your back 24/7 to.
Apple have there own browser to it much different from windows 10 to 11 to and apple use there browser and only apple can update there Very own Version to to. for those use apple the best way to keep the apple up to date with there latest things to plus if the browser it could be related to internet Provider it may not be related to the machine to if the apple laptop is running a bit slow then the best way is shut down then leave it for couple mins then restart again it might be that you may have a lot of dust that is build up inside the apple Laptop to but however if that the case then you will need to send it to apple only they can enter into the components as inside the laptop to. Plus also there might be Programs running in the background in the apple Laptop and windows 10, 11 to the Programmes in the background make sure that your laptop are running the essential things inside the O.S to sometime what can happen is the some of Processor information can be big issue to user when that happens it mean what is trying to do is trying to communicate with the CPU and the RAM, Hard drive so like covert into blocks and more blocks to so RAM CPU Hard drive work together convert into small blocks to make allowances for that o happen however as or Tech things go they will get old to so it good idea to upgrade to latest Tech of course it can be very costly to because Tech is changing every single day the latest Tech that is out there they now do the M.2 SSD Hard drive which is very fastest M.2 SSD which is very good performances to and they now do the Intel Core 13 which another step Intel has made to. Another thing that laptop can have sometimes it can caused my to much programmes that are install in the Hard drive to which can also cause issue to plus it be very good to make sure that you have all laptops are fully update from Apple and Microsoft updates to and yes always clear the cookies and the cache to hear is how you do it to hear is the URL https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/delete-cookies-in-microsoft-edge-63947406-40ac-c3b8-57b9-2a946a29ae09#:~:text=Select%20Settings%20%3E%20Privacy%2C%20search%2C,and%20then%20select%20Clear%20now.
I hope this help you all to.
Make sure that you Backup all your hard work on One drive or Portable Backup Hard drive Machine to.

Hi DavidJohnson, Thanks for your reply. These are helpful ideas & I will definitely refer to them, esp the links for clearing cookies & cache. I never heard of Sophos but will look into that application. I'm sure if folks that use Microsoft will benefit as well. For now, downloading & using Chrome has worked for me.
