After the mothers name I recognize the words geburt gestorben, however, this child was over a month old when he did. Did she have twins? Would someone be able to translate this for me? This is in Aeugst am Albis, Zurich, Switzerland.

The last line is begraben worden "was buried", and I think the last word of the preceding line is Sohnleins "little son's". The line above that has Geburt "birth" followed by gestorben "died", but I can't figure out the rest. (Are those astrological symbols in the first line?)

Thank you. So does it appear he died on his baptism day "Tauftag"?

The symbol after the abbreviation "nat" is the male symbol. I would have to look the other one up.

I think that the person who died on the baby's day of baptism was the mother, but there are too many words that I can't decipher to be anywhere near sure of that.

The male symbol is also the symbol for Mars. (Or actually more like the other way around: the Mars symbol is also used for "male".)
