Has FamilySearch done away with helper numbers?

When you now go to add someone to help, the only way you can do that is by sending them an email. There is no option listed to use a helper number.

    Cathy

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

[ And, I happen to be a Member of the Church ... ]

    Just in passing ...

    Good 'pick-up' ...

That was 'snuck in' quietly, 'under the radar' ...

    Short Answer: 'No'.

The "Helper Number", is STILL there; and, STILL, required.

Such, is STILL required, for the "Help Others" feature/facility/function.

    But ...

    That Said ...

It is just, that it NOW appears, that we CANNOT (ie. NO LONGER), "Add" anyone, to OUR "(Consultant) Planner" [ feature/facility/function ], by/through a "Helper Number" (or, without).

    That is TRULY unfortunate ...

As, I often add, Users/Patrons, who are NOT from my Ward/Branch/Stake, to my "(Consultant) Planner".

[ And, some, that are not even members of the Church ... ]

And, I often, DO NOT need (nor, want), to have to send them an, "Invite"; or, "Copy" of a "Link".

[ Especially, when they are there with me ... ]

This is "Definitely" NOT an IMPROVEMENT, this "Definitely" a DOWN GRADE ...

This is a real shame ...

I truly hope, that 'FamilySearch', reconsiders, this UNFORTNATE "Change".

I know, that this certainly may/does not help/assist; but, just lettig you know, that you ae not alone.

    Brett

ps: Of course ... NOT that anyone listens ...

Please reinstate the ability to add someone to the planner using the helper number. It is so much more convenient than using a link or an email. It allows a consultant to begin helping a person right away without having to wait for them to respond to an email or text.

We have a "Reprieve" ... for now ...

I hope, that this may help/assist, somewhat.

When we send an invite to a patron by email so they agree to have you help them. What are they supposed to do with the email. Do they answer that they agree? What does the email say that is sent to the patron?

    @RickFrancom

    Rick

    It's 'Brett'.

    Just in passing ...

    Thinking out aloud ...

As, I have NOT tried such (of late) ...

And, I could be wrong; and, I stand corrected, if I am ...

I would humbly suggest, Just like, the "Invites", to the NEW "Family Groups" ...

Plus, through, the ORIGINAL "Computer" Web "Version", of 'FamilySearch' ...

[ ie. NOT, the "Mobile" Application "Version', of 'FamilySearch' ... ]

Short Answer: They select, the "Link", in the "E-mail".

IF, they are already "Signed Into" their 'FamilySearch' Account, in that "Browser"; THEN, that will "Open" the "Invite"; and, provided, that they "Accept", that will AUTOMATIACLLY "Add" them to the "(Consultant) Planner".

    Whereas ...

IF, they are NOT already, "Signed Into", their 'FamilySearch' Account, in that "Browser"; THEN, they will be required/prompted, to "Sign Into", their 'FamilySearch' Account, with their "Credentials"; and, that will "Open" the "Invite"; and, provided, that they "Accept", that will AUTOMATIACLLY "Add" them to the "(Consultant) Planner".

    Remember ...

    Just my thoughts.
