App won't let me log in
I downloaded the Get Involved app onto my phone, but when I try to click on any method to log in, it says I don't have a supported browser on my phone. I checked the supported browsers and I have 2 of them on my phone. I do not have any issue signing into the Family Tree app. What is going on?

@Rachel Mae Schneider I have just installed the Get Involved app (version 1.5.5) on my Android phone and I don't have a problem logging in. Is your phone Android or Apple? What is the version of the app? Has the app ever worked for you?
I noticed that there is a review posted in the Google Play Store about 2 days ago relating to the Family Tree app. The user was experiencing a different issue on that app related to logging in, but there is a response there from FamilySearch. They invited the user to contact FamilySearch and provided an email address (it is Android-specific). If you have an Android phone and the problem persists, you might be able to get some help there.

I was having the same problem (same error message) as @Rachel Mae Schneider but removing and re-installing the app seems to have resolved it (signed in successfully via Google). Now on version 1.5.5 on Android.

Uninstalling and reinstalling did not help, but I found the email address mentioned and sent them an email. Hopefully they'll be able to help me, thanks.

It's been a week and I haven't heard back. I'm not sure if I just haven't waited long enough or if there's a different email I should use. I am on Android. Does anyone have any other ideas of how to contact them or how I might resolve this?

@Rachel Mae Schneider I suggest that you flag your original post, choose the "Unanswered question" option, and ask for a moderator to review this and escalate it to the appropriate FamilySearch team.

Thank you for your reports about difficulties logging into the Get Involved app. We’re gathering details to understand whether this is an isolated issue or something affecting multiple users.
If you are unable to log in, please share the following information so we can escalate it appropriately:
- Whether the app has ever worked for you before
- What happens when you attempt to log in (error message, spinning, crash, etc.)
- Are you using the same login information as FamilySearch? The Get Involved app uses FamilySearch login credentials, not a separate account. Make sure you’re using the same email/username you use on FamilySearch.org and the same password. If you recently changed your FamilySearch password, the app may reject the old cached one.
- Can you log into Get Involved using a separate browser on your phone? If you cannot log in there, the issue is with the account, not the app.
- Are you using a VPN? (Turn it off)
- Force-stop and clear the app’s cache (Android). This solves most “stuck on login” issues. Settings → Apps → Get Involved → Storage → Clear Cache
This information helps us determine whether the problem is device‑specific, version‑specific, or account‑related. Thank you for your patience while we investigate.

Are you receiving an error message when you try to sign in? If so, can you tell me what error message you received? I just signed out of my "Get Involved App," and then I couldn't get back in. I forgot that I had turned off my wifi yesterday until I got a message that I couldn't sign in because I didn't have wifi. As soon as I turned on my Wi-Fi, I could sign back in without any problems. So I thought maybe you could check your wifi to see if it is connected to your network. Another idea is to check whether your device needs an update.

Hello,
I'm just following up on the issue you reported with signing in to the Get Involved app.
Were you able to sign in successfully, or are you still seeing the message that your phone does not have a supported browser installed?
If the issue has been resolved, we're glad to hear it. If you're still experiencing the problem, please let us know, and we'll be happy to continue troubleshooting with you.
Thank you, and we look forward to your update.
