Zooming of 1950 census pages

I am struggling with this today as well. Mine will zoom in to be the width of my screen, but I apparently need it zoomed in even more--especially when so many things are tiny. I hope it gets fixed soon. I need to be able to zoom in more to index easier. Some are too hard to read so small!

At this point, we can only continue to apologize as the Engineers work to solve this problem.

@PHOlsen There has been no new information regarding the zooming issue. However, there is a work-around that has been posted regarding the header review. On header review, if you need to really zoom in on something, select the icon which will take you to the options to increase or decrease contrast and brightness and invert the image colors. This will remove the fields to add info and allow you to zoom way in on the image.
For other reviews, you might try changing the contrasting to see if that will make the entry more readable.

My issue is not in the header review process. It is in the review families process. So frustrating I'm going to work on other projects until the issue is fully resolved. Thank you.

I too am getting massive headaches from the zooming in of the surname and zooming out of the first name. I'm loving indexing the census, but the zooming is causing headaches.

I agree! This bouncing around - in and out - is horrible.

@PHOlsen I was hoping that the information regarding the Header Review might assist you with the reviewing you are doing. For someone who is used to using the magnification in other projects, it is indeed very frustrating. I have found that if I come to a surname or given name that I need magnified, I roll the image down to the smallest size and then roll it up to the maximum size. It sometimes stay that way for a couple of names. But, again, it goes to the default size.
Please know that every effort you are making to review is greatly needed and appreciated. I want to encourage you to "just keep on keeping on." We are all doing a great job together.

I need to zoom my laptop screen to read the information. Every time I move to the next input screen the image reverts back to the non-zoom size. Is there anyway to keep the image zoomed?

@patriciadenehegji1 This is one of the very annoying things about these records that the Engineers have so far been unable to fix. We share your frustration!

At least i'm not suffering all alone!

Why does zoom constantly zoom out requiring zooming back in every step. Very annoying and slows down progress. I don;t think I'll index any more until made more user friendly

@Bob Jankowski, I understand what you are saying with the zooming. Please do a Feedback on the main/landing page of the 1950 census. It is on the left side of the page. Your comments are very valuable to our engineers.
Thank you so much for expressing this annoyance.

I looked and looked and could not find that feedback button until you placed it for me

I'm sorry. Here is a screenshot.

I guess i said that wrong. I was able to find it after your first message. Thank you. It is pretty tiny.

@Bob Jankowski, it is rather small and not real distinct. Sorry about how big the arrow is!! Almost like yelling! I apologize about that!

You can somewhat "immunize" yourself against these Zoom issues/quirks using the Magnifier "Accessibility" feature built into Mac, Windows PCs, and IOS devices. This feature will allow you to magnify portions of the screen that you're interested in scrutinizing (rather than the whole screen). It may not perfectly answer your needs, but it provides some options.
You can also change the image magnification by dragging that little white rectangle in the middle of the boundary at the base of the image display window. If you drag it down, the whole image enlarges; if you drag it up, the entire image shrinks.
You may need to do some investigation for more details, but here is an outline of how to invoke the "Accessibility" Magnification feature on a Mac, Windows PC, and an IOS device.
On a Mac: I don't have a Mac, so I haven't used this feature.
On a Windows PC: The magnifier can be set up as a rectangle to follow the mouse cursor.
On an IOS device:
