Bug Report: 1900 United States Census Index has been corrupted
Over the past couple of days two different people have reported having problems with the 1900 United Census index. Looking at their posts shows that there are household in the index in which the records for members of the household have been replaced with the record for the head of the household.
It is clear that something happened to the index sometime between December 18, 2021 and the last week or so.
I hope this is not too widespread and easy to repair.

The 1900 United States Census is showing as this record has been removed. Will it eventually be fixed? Or do I have to reattach all 1900 censuses?

Thank you for posting your concern. There were/are some issues with the 1900 census that the engineers are aware of and working on. As to the question of needing to reattach, I'm not sure if we would need to do that. I am assuming not. But keep track of the ones you have attached.

Will it do any good to continue asking here for an ETA to fix this issue? For U.S. researchers, it's not a trivial problem. Even previously-attached 1900 census entries have vanished (mainly working in the New Jersey / Philadelphia area).

It's not an easy matter for programmers to supply an ETA for a computer issue.

By the way, I am in the industry, and we provide ETAs for resolution all the time. It's just a matter that they don't want to commit to one. [shrug]

The problem continues with the 1900 Census in Pennsylvania. I am not sure if this is happening in other locations.
