How is a certain person related to me?

I know that you can look up how someone is related to you by going to View My Relationship. But I am still confused how I am related, as I don't see how her parents are related to me. Maybe her mother was married before, and this is mother's first marriage? I need to find an answer, bc it says that the woman I'm looking at was married to Brigham Young. I am just trying to confirm.

Thank you!

    Hello @LindaWoodall4

We would have to have your helper information to actually see what you are describing, but generally speaking, when you click on View My Relationship on an ancestor's page your relationship is displayed on a chart that shows the direct relatives between you and the person. At the top of the chart, you can see your relationship, such as My Grandmother, or My First Cousin, etc. The chart can show up to 15 generations up and 15 generations down from the person you are viewing. Of course, the relationship path shown is only as accurate as the data inputted.

Another way you might be able to see your relationship to Brigham Young would be to go to BYU's Relative Finder website. A description of the site is found in our Solutions Gallery:
