Grave Headstone picture for ancestors who died in that month
I have been displeased with Family Search from its inception in that it is a community family tree and anyone can change anything in a persons tree. I have been very verbal in the early years of Family Search, and I know it is a necessary part in identifying ancestors for performing temple ordinances. That being said:
I am very impressed with the recent Cemetery Headstone for ancestors dying in that month and showing how they are related. By using that document, then going to Ancestry.com and looking at my tree (exclusively mine) I can verify whether the person is in fact related and how the person is related to me. I know I put memorials on Find-a-grave website when I have the cemetery information. I am proud for that part of the Family Search program.
This is a most useful tool in the research of identifying our ancestors.
My one regret is Family search is not like Ancestry.com in where you have your tree and no one can change it.

Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.
[ But, obviously, you being a long time User/Patron of "Family Tree" of 'Family Search' ... ]
I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
FIRSTLY ...
As you brought it up ...
And ...
Just my thoughts ...
Most new (and, some old) Users/Patrons DO NOT understand the basic 'nature' and 'premise' of "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch', when they join in.
Please let me explain ...
We do not have our OWN "Tree" in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
We ONLY have "Branches" (ie. Ancestral" lines), that are interconnected, in this SINGLE "One" World "Tree", for all of us, that is "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
"Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' is NOT like 'On-Line' "Websites" (eg. "Ancestry_com"; or "MyHeritage_com"; or, the like); and/or, 'standalone' personal (computer) programmes (eg, the OLD, now no longer supported, "PAF"; or, "Ancestral Quest"; or, the like).
We DO NOT have "Private"/"Personal" 'Trees' in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' like other 'On-Line' "Websites"; and/or, 'standalone' personal (computer) programmes.
We do not even, own; or, manage; and, are NOT even responsible for, the "Deceased" individuals/persons in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
And, MOST Importantly ...
We DO NOT even, own; or, manage; and, are NOT even responsible for, OUR OWN "Deceased" Ancestors/Family/Relatives in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
"Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' is built on a "Open Edit" Platform - hence, why any registered User/Patron can "Edit" (ie. Add, Delete; and/or, Change) ANY "Deceased" individual/person in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
Furthermore ...
MANY, probably MOST, Users/Patrons of "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch', STILL have/maintain a PRIVATE / PERSONAL "Copy" (or two) of their OWN "Ancestral" Lines in one or more "Databases", on the likes of, 'On-Line' "Websites" (eg. "Ancestry_com"; or "MyHeritage_com"; or, the like); and/or, 'standalone' personal (computer) programmes (eg, the OLD, now no longer supported, "PAF"; or, "Ancestral Quest"; or, the like).
SECONDLY ...
As to the "Campaign" regarding the "Headstones" of our Ancestors ...
I do not mind or have a problem/issue with that (or, other) "Campaigns", 'per se' ...
Whereas, I just DISLIKE (and, consider it 'Wasteful', of a User's/Patron's 'Time'), getting "Discovery" NOTIFICATIONS, in regard to the various "Campaigns", such as the "Headstones" one; where, a RECORD "Hint", for one of their Ancestors, that is ALREADY "Attached"; especially, by the User/Patron (themselves), in the first instance, some YEARS previously.
One of my many post about the matter ...
AGAIN ▬ WHY are WE receiving "Discovery" NOTIFICATIONS about RECORDS that have ALREADY been ATTACHED
Again, just my thoughts.
