Post said it had one comment, however when opened up, all it had was the original post.

However, when I opened it up, there was no comment, only the original post. Where had Brett's comment gone?

I do not know; but, I suggest you try again ...
My 'Comment' took longer than normal to "Finalise"; as, the included "Image" took quite some time to be approved though "Image Moderation".
Let me know if my "Comment" still DOES NOT appear for you.
IF, so; THEN, there is another problem/issue.

Without directly addressing this specific case, I believe this will happen when a FamilySearch moderator has removed a comment. I'm sure if this action was taken in the past the poster's name would have disappeared, too. The fact it remains appears to be a bug. Hopefully, a moderator can provide an explanation. It doesn't have to be too specific - just a general explanation for the reason(s) this situation can occur.

Interesting ...
I just took a look at, this 'Post'; and, the other 'Post', through another User/Patron ...
NEITHER, of MY "Comments" appear ...
And, yet, for me they BOTH appear ...
Perhaps, I am ... "persona non grata" ...

It seems there are some people whose posts are not showing. why?
I assume you FS employees know who that is - but if not - message me privately.

If as Paul has suggested, the non availability of a post is due to Moderator deletion, the old GetSatsisfaction Forum had a Change Log so that you could see if a Moderator had deleted a post, or if a person had removed their own post.
I think that should be a feature with FamilySearch Community. At least you can see what is going on..
And if it is due to Moderator delation, IT SHOULD BE MADE CLEAR IN GENERAL TERMS WHAT IS PERMISSIBLE AND WHAT IS NOT, so we can make a decision whether to post or not.
I (non Church member) find it rather strange that matters relating to a new Forum could be deemed unsuitable comment

Right now, immediately before I started typing this - it said that this thread has 7 comments (this should be the 8th). I can only see 4 (this will be the 5th). We need to have an explanation.
If someone's post has been removed - have they been told?
If someone's posts are being suppressed - have they been told?

I'm starting to wonder if there is a basic instability in this platform that was not discovered until being put into full use. Taking a random sample in various groups, it looks like about 1/3 of posts have a higher comment number than viewable comments. That is way too high to be due to "inappropriate" posts removed by moderators. I have posted part two of my navigation comments twice and it has disappeared both times.
I've noted a couple of other strange things. I went back to a topic I commented on yesterday and while my comment was posted, my comment was also still in the Leave a Comment box as if I had never clicked the Post Comment box.
This would not be the first system that tested great with 50 users and failed badly with 50,000.

Here is a theory for other's to think about and disprove for me. Looking at comments of mine that have vanished, one consistent feature seems to be that they have more than one URL link and/or image.
As a test, I'm going to post two more comments here, one with two links, one with a link and a picture and one with two pictures just to see if any of them stay posted.
If they all vanish, that would support a significant bug in some automated moderating system that just can't handle more than one inserted item.

There should be three posts between by 12:04 post and this one.

Oh well, so much for that theory!

As requested elsewhere, would a FamilySearch employee please respond to our queries regarding the current problems being experienced when posting on this forum? I assume at least a moderator is viewing all these posts to ensure comments do not breach the code of conduct. If so, would you kindly advise the developers of the number of issues contributors are experiencing. At present, there is no indication at all that FamilySearch employees are remaining involved here.

I notice Brett's missing post, which was the subject of this topic, has now reappeared. Also a post he made in this topic.

I believe this bug has now been fixed.

This is very odd, but it sounds like the original missing post has luckily shown up, so hopefully it was just a temporary glitch. Has anyone run into this same issue since?
