Parent-Child Relationship - Relationship Sources. How does this area get populated?

However, I do not understand how/why this has got there, whereas the same record for John Herbert Briggs' sister Jane Ann Briggs has not.
Another user added the 1861 census source to both siblings on the same day (5 July 2019), yet there is this inconsistency - i.e no source in the corresponding section for Jane Ann.
The URL for access to this detail is their father's page at https://www.familysearch.org/tree/per.... I have also provided a screenshot of the view after clicking on the pencil icon against the parent/child relationship.
I would be most grateful for anyone offering me an explanation.
As illustrated, the census source is shown in John Herbert's' Relationship Sources box, so why not in his sister Jane Ann's?

Key is looking at the sequence of when the Person is created and when the source is created and when the Persons are bound in a relationship. Alot is happening in SourceLinker, it's deterministic, but there are many cases of states of the different data.
Below is what I think happened and is confirming my previous comment that Sources are attached to Relationships when the SourceLinker creates another family member and that corresponding parent-child relationship:
Thomas is a 2012 created Person from nFS. Isabella (mother) is 2012 created, but probably got hinted and the Source is created July5 ,2019. In that same SourceLinker session the child John was probably created and relationship created and the Source in that Relationship is attached at that time, because the relationship in the record matches the relationship in FT.
How about Robert? He is created another day July6 and not part of the session. Maybe created by the user ad-hoc, or via Sourcelinker hint. But the Sourcelinker does have enough session information to attach that record to the relationship.
The other kids are all brought into the family in 2014, probably way before relationship source in Sourcelinker, maybe not even using Sourcelinker. We don't know.
Complications because there are Merges and other relationship adds and deletes. We could spend lots of time figuring it all out, maybe.
But I think it boils down to a Sourcelinker session creating a family member in the same session as another member being hinted (since creating a Person is only possible when hinting an existing FT Person).0 -
Paul said: Thanks for your (further) response, Joe, on the general issue. I was about to sign-off for the night (I'm in the UK, of course) so will read this through again tomorrow. The main comparison I was making, however, was between John Herbert and sister Jane Ann, as they were the only children to appear in the 1861 census with their parents, yet one has found the source ending up their Relationship Sources box and the other hasn't. (Their brother Robert, who you mention, had died before 1861, so would not be affected by this.)
As I understand it, you are suggesting other factors probably being involved in the issue - even though the source was added to both children on the same day.
Thanks for now.0 -
