Preview a batch before choosing it

I chose an intermediate level batch to look at, but I didn't understand that by clicking on the button I was actually signing up to complete the sections. I don't know what kind of parish record this is as there in no information about it. I would like to return it so that others who understand this kind of record can index it instead of waiting for it to expire in my queue.

Christine said: Rebecca, it is fairly simple to return a batch you don't want to complete. Even though I am an experienced indexer/reviewer, I often return batches if I don't have time to complete, if the handwriting is a bit too difficult for me to wrestle with at the moment, or if the batch isn't quite what I was hoping it was.
To return a batch, open it, then go to the top left (right next to the familysearch tree) and click on the word BATCH. There is a drop down menu. Slide down to RETURN, click on that and the batch will be removed from your batches and another person can get it.
Never, ever, ever feel bad about returning a batch! I wish there were more beginning projects, but since there aren't, we all get batches that are a bit more than we had planned.
To get specific help about your indexing you can go to the indexing community pages here on family search. On your main page, go to the top left and click on HELP. Slide down to COMMUNITY. On the right of that page is GROUPS. Click on that and select INDEXING CHAT. There are lots of people there who will help you with any questions about indexing you might have, including perhaps some easier projects.
Best of luck to you, and keep indexing!!0 -
