Indexing a specific set of records of your choice

I have been working with these records for months and connecting them with profiles in my FamilySearch family tree. I am now very interested in indexing these records and contribute to overall FamilySearch indexing effort. I can not do all the records on my own and, by starting this initiative, am hoping to attract other contributors interested in Rab.
To help this initiative I would propose that a "Croatian" project is set up to help others find us working on Rab records.
The above "Croatia" project will then have the existing indexing group for "Croatia, Church Books, 1516-1994" run by Group Admin Rebecca Ann Schuster as a subgroup.
I further propose that "Croatia, Church Books, 1516-1994" indexing group has a subgroup for "Roman Catholic" records.
A subgroup of that group would then be a "Rab" group that I would work with and other people can join.
By subdividing the indexing work in that way it will be easier to find what you are interested in, spread the word of that work to other potential contributors interested in Rab (there is a Geni group for Rab) and get more people involved. It will also make the goals of the group of indexing the whole set of records more achievable and suitable for small contributors.

We all share an active interest in using the resources of this site and as users, we have various levels of knowledge and experience and do our best to help each other with concerns, issues, and/or questions.
This type of indexing request has been made a number of times and the last I heard is that it is under consideration.
FamilySearch, for one reason or another, does not usually announce feature development plans, especially if there has not been a lot of requests for it. While this type of request is not unusual, we users are not told what is under consideration, in the pipeline (somewhere on the priority list), and any planned release date(s).
FamilySearch has very limited development team resources and certain areas get more attention than others.
However, we have been told that the entire site is being reworked, including areas that have not been fully developed.
Hopefully someone with a better memory than I have (or a FamilySearch representative) can let us know if this kind of request is being considered or is in the pipeline.0 -
