ENTERING A NAME TO SEARCH FOR

Click Search to see a drop-down of all the different things you could search on FS:

Records
Images
Family Tree
Genealogies
Catalog
Books
Research Wiki

Search - Family Tree is the same as Family Tree - Find. This is what you use if you're looking for someone's profile on the big shared tree.
Search - Records is where you can search by name for records pertaining to your ancestor. It presupposes that the record has been indexed. If it hasn't, then Search - Catalog or the new Search - Images are more useful, as they can show you what record images are available for the specific location.

Paul said: Apparently, the revised headings / menu structure is "standard practice" for most websites. I admit I am still taking time to adjust what "level" I'm at, so whether I need a further click to get to the page required, or to right-click (to open a page in a new tab) if there are no further sub-menus!
