Firstly, "Welcome" to this "FamilySearch" ("GetStaisfaction") 'Feedback' Forum.
Secondly, "Official 'FamilySearch' Representatives", do monitor; and, sometimes, participate in, this Forum.
Thirdly, I am just another User/Patron, just like yourself (and, happen to be a Member of the Church).
Many Users/Patrons who regularly participate in this Forum who have a great deal of knowledge and experience with "FamilySearch", like to assist/help other Users/Patrons like yourself.
Finally, Member Users/Patrons ALREADY get "Notifications" of "Reservations" that are DUE to "Expire" though "User Messaging" in "FamilySearch" under the Category of "Temple".
I really do not want E-mail "Notifications" of "Reservations" that are DUE to "Expire", we get ENOUGH "E-mails" now.
If you have the "Mobile" Application version of "FamilySearch" on your Mobile Phone or Tablet, you will see/set an indication that you have such 'Messages' in "User Messaging" in "FamilySearch" - but, is not necessary if you use "FamilySearch" even on a semi regular basis; as, you get the "Red" Number NEXT to "Messages" indicating you have a NEW 'Message(s)'.
I hope this helps.

I sort my reserved as "All Reserved", then by expiration date. In this way, I keep track of when my "male endowments" ,which I shared with Temple File, need to be "unshared" and performed, to avoid my sealing to expire. If you need to, you can always "unreserve" then "re-reserve" ordinances, to extend your time to complete them.
I hope this helps.

Thanks for replying.
I guess I was wanting to be notified outside of family search e.g. via my gmail account rather than waiting to find out until I log in?
Can it be an 'option' rather than a compulsory notification...i.e. choose from a list of notifications. Then that would avoid the overload of emails for those who do not want it.0 -

G'Day, again.
Many Users/Patrons were sick and tired of all the E-Mail 'Messages" that we get, not so much the Church one's; but, the way our E-Mail accounts are 'clogged' with 'Junk' mail.
I cannot be certain; but, I think that I recall at one point we were 'Notified' via "E-Mail" that we had received a 'Message' in "User Messaging" of "FamilySearch" about "Temple" Work (ie. "Expiring"; and/or, "Completed") .
Whereas, I think that was stopped for the reason that I indicated above; and, with the belief/thinking that Members of the Church would be using "FamilySearch" frequently enough to see that they had a NEW 'Message' (NOT necessarily about "Temple" Work) in "User Messaging" of "FamilySearch"; so that, they would investigate/check out the NEW 'Message'.
You do not have to be using "FamilySearch" just about everyday, like me and some others; but, at least, Weekly.
And, there other factor that has emerged, to encourage such; and, that is the "Mobile" Application of "FamilySearch". I have the "Mobile" Application of "FamilySearch" on my Mobile Phone; but, I do not use that to work in, only to view - I use the "Web" Version for working in. That "Mobile" Application of "FamilySearch" does work; and, such 'Messages' (even about "Temple" Work) in "User Messaging" of "FamilySearch" appear in real time. When I leave the "Temple" and check my Mobile Phone there are 'Messages' in "User Messaging" of "FamilySearch" about "Temple" Work that has just been "Completed". Such 'Messages' in "User Messaging" of "FamilySearch" about "Temple" Work that are about to "Expire" also appear in real time.
I understand what you want, I hope this helps and puts things into perspective.
