Cannot Create New Person

Carolyn Wheeler said: I am trying to create a new person by adding a father for the groom from a marriage record that I am attaching to a couple. Whenever I click on "Create New Person" it does not create the person and just returns me to the "Add to Family Tree" option. It seems to want more information, but there is no more information. The marriage record is nearly 300 years old so everyone is long deceased.

Why can I not create a father for this groom?

Am trying to add a father to Hanß Jacob Eitel K27L-YYS via his marriage record found at the top of his hint list.

I have been trying to add a child, but when I enter her dates, the only option I get is 'Cancel'

@MMarney, have you chosen a sex and a status (living or deceased)? It will not allow you to move forward without a selection for those -- and no, entering something in a "death" field does not automatically select "deceased".

Also, I notice that the dates do not have standardized values associated with them. I believe it'll allow you to save them this way, but they will trigger an error flag on the profile.
