For example, I read 1,596,927 indexed records have been added to the "England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975" collection. Great, except how do I know whether it's worth my time making (possibly hundreds of) searches, in an attempt to see if any records have been added relating to individuals I am researching?
Someone at FamilySearch knows the specific details of these added records, so please share this information with us to save users many hours making potentially fruitless searches relating to the added material.

The origins of the collection England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975 lie in the historical records of the IGI, therefore I tend to dismiss it as out of date - yet it appears to still get updated...
I'm sure that there is a good reason, and it's not exactly a critical point, but the distribution of collections is a little odd and therefore confusing.0 -

I know that I and many others have worked on New York land transfers for many months and have completed thousands of records and they have not shown up on these added records, yet they are now finally starting to show up on the indexed records if you were to search for them. I only noticed it by accident when I was looking for something else. Why did they never show up on the added records?0
