Juanita Ruth Boles said: There should be a repository for names of slaves mentioned in wills. Here are all these people who I can locate by date, county, and state, but I have no where to give this information to family members who are looking for them.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has donated two million dollars to the International African American Museum.

This shows that the Museum will not open until "Early 2022." With the Covid-19 crisis it might take longer for them to open. You could contact them about the slaves mentioned in the Will.

There are two sources that you probably should check for possible repositories: FamilySearch Wiki (open it by using Search.... Research Wiki, and search by wildcard. Try Slavery -or- Slave Lists to start.
The other is Cyndi's list (http://www.cyndislist.com/), which contains links for almost every genealogical site on the internet. The site isn't the easiest to use so you'll have to do some searching.0 -

Don M Thomas said: Thank you Juanita Ruth Boles for letting me read the Will and Probate. It kind of hurts to see a price amount attached to each slave. Thank you again Juanita - Don.0

The disruption of this forum allowed me to see that FamilySearch has on it's "FAMILY SEARCH COMMUNITY" forum, under "Groups," an AFRICAN AMERICAN GENEALOGY RESEARCH group. https://community.familysearch.org/s/...
Hitting on the above link or AFRICAN AMERICAN GENEALOGY RESEARCH group you can see off to the right of the page a title called, "Slave Name Roll Project."
http://slavenamerollproject.blogspot....
Hitting on the above "Slave Name Roll Project" you can see where you can add the slave names that your ancestor Willilam Childress owned and were sold after his death. You can also add his Will. Might take some time in getting to understand the "Slave Name Roll Project" and page.0 -
