Standardized place names contain bad info

The only thing for Bergsjön is in Västra Götaland a place name that did not exist until after 1997 when Sweden realigned and consolidated counties. I see such errors over and over again for many locales in Sweden. Unfortunately too many researchers don't know the difference and Ancestry defaults to the new place names.

The original poster was referring to the year"980."
Göteborg och Bohus was created after 1680.
I believe the standardized place should be consistent with the DATE of the event.
