I Was a "Noob" Once

I started doing family history more seriously in 2018 and within the two years I have learned many tricks with the website and mostly with how to interpret and find Dutch records for my dutch line. Here is one record that just looks weird to me now. Back in 2018 I just accepted the indexed data (and I didn't understand it all either). But now I know how to navigate to the original source and find the real truth if needed. The person was born in Heerde, Gelderland, Netherlands and I had put down that they died in Heerde, ..., Germany... that is a red flag looking at it quickly. Going into the record I see that it says De Beek (Heerde) and that FamilySearch interpreted that as Heerde in Germany for some reason? Which could be fixed somehow (I already wrote a post about that) but going to the link to the image (which goes to another website with the index), it tells me that the index comes from Gelders Archive which does records in Gelderland, Netherlands. So I know it is wrong to be in Germany. To check that it is in fact De Beek, Heerde, Gelderland, Netherlands, I go to the image and it says that the death happened in the neighborhood of De Beek in the municipality of Heerde, so it works out.
I am, also, now, not scared of not conforming to the standards anymore because I know they are not totally up to date anyway and that will take time.
I am just proud of myself for learning all this from all the research I have done and reading articles and asking other people on different sorts of groups. If you are a noob, it's ok, you will learn: )
Thanks FamilySearch!!
