Additionally, the reserved names page is quite confusing due to the color schemes, as well as, how the names are now organized. It has become confusing who's work needs to be done and what ordinances need to be completed (because you can't organize like the past edition).
Thanks for listening.

We have recognized a deficiency with filtering on specific ordinances needed, which we are addressing. If you would like to give us a specific instance of what you are trying to do and are now not able, please reply and we will try to help you.0

Concerning the reservations, it is more difficult to see and organize the names to see who needs what ordinance.
I've spoken with others in my ward and they have felt the same way too.

Welcome to the FamilySearch public Feedback forum! I'm not an employee, but we have been informed that all postings here are read by FS employees, from which you may or may not receive a direct response.
There are at least 3 different areas of change recently made, which when combined together has created confusion for many:
1. Page layouts have a different "look and feel" to them. I believe that this is part of FS efforts to roll out a new set of common "page construction" utilities that will assist them in maintaining the site in the future.
2. Ordinance icon colors have been simplified. FS appears to be working toward merging what used to be 2 separate systems for handling ordinance work into a single one. I.e., The "Family File" and "Temple File" processes which used to be quite different are being more closely combined.
3. Similar to item #2, anyone can request a name that has been shared with the temple by someone else, and can print it, and go do the ordinance work. There was a limited ability to do this added back when Ordinances Read was introduced. Now it can be done by anyone directly from the ordinances tab on a person record. Because items in the shared with temple state can now be reserved by anyone, the old red color icon no longer applies (it is now green).
Because of these concurrent needed changes, the system must look different than what it was and it is guaranteed to cause confusion. But that being said, there are enough changes that some things are likely to not be very optimal at the present. So as you get used to the new layouts and behavior, try to provide information here that is a little more specific for things that interfere with you being able to accomplish things on the site.
E.g., point out where you specifically "had issues" reserving names.
Note that there have been some issues with the separation of which ordinances to request since they were sort of "stuck" together. FS is aware of this and addressing it at this time if I understand correctly. It has become confusing who's work needs to be done
If by "work" you mean "ordinance work at the temple", that is quite easy. As always, if there is a green icon and a "request" button in a record's ordinances tab, then you can request it, print it, and take it to the temple.
However, if by "work" you really mean "research work on vitals and relationships", then that is a different story. Many folks here were using the green icons as a flag to determine who to do research on. Those colored icons were never intended for that purpose and as a result of recent changes, it is more difficult to use them in this fashion. So if you are running into this issue, look at some of the other postings here.
The organizing of reserved names is now done using a filter. I've not played with it much yet, but there have been other complaints about it. If there are some specifics issues that you have with it, you might want to start a new topic to deal with just the list ordering and filtering issues. Being specific and having different topics discussions for different issues is always a good idea.
Anyway, hope this gives you some ideas.0
