Turn Off Message Reminder from Discovery

Ray Batig said: I received notification that I had a new message. When I went to the message page I found out it was a Discovery about my ancestors headstones being found. I then went through them all but found no way to "tell FamilySearch" that I had processed them. Consequently, the new message notification continues to show up.

When I started to post this message I read the previous threads most dealt with opting out of the Discovery notification. I don't want to do that since I did find one discovery useful so maybe future ones might. I simply would like a way to indicate that I have processed the Discovery and do not need to be reminded of it.

Hopefully one of the employees can get this resolved. It is an interesting feature but not when it clouds the new message feature. And FYI I do get new messages from people I have met on while working and would like to see those announced. With the Discovery message clouding the new message feature I will never see real messages from others.

Thanks for your help!

    You are not alone ...

Here is just the latest previous post in this Forum alone on this matter ...

3 Discovery messages at once is too much --- and I have My Ancestors messages turned off! (please make sure opt-out works.)

In fact, there have been a number of such previous requests (if fact, "Demands") in the Forum of late.

We have been told that "FamilySearch" is 'working on it'.

We just need to be patient, easier said than done; and, patience does wear a bit thin after a while ...
