Memories Tag Person Prompt Not Always Useful

Ray Batig said: I have been uploading many photos of documents and things like Army Ribbons and Awards as well as pictures of family homes to my relatives Memories. I have tried uploading them to the Pictures and the Documents, however, in both cases, there is a prompt which pops up that says Click image to tag XXXXX, where XXXXX is the persons name. In the aforementioned photos there are no people, however, you cannot get rid of the tag prompt so it is present and obstructs the view of the item(s) in the post.

I believe it would be very easy to add a button on the tag prompt ribbon that is titled something like N/A or Hide Prompt and when clicked it would hide the Prompt ribbon.

Thank you!

Untagged memories in albums can also be visible-but tagging is a better process

The add tag box only appears in the gallery thumbnail, not the image viewer

Beth Ann Wiseman said: If there isn’t a person you want to tag in the photo, you don’t have to tag anything. The prompt to tag only shows to the uploader from the memories tab. No one else will ever see it. The same is true of the red exclamation on the thumbnail on the memories tab. That is only shown to the uploader to remind them to set a tagged region.

No one else sees the red exclamation mark. The image is not obstructed for anyone else with a “Click yo Tag” prompt. Viewing the memory from your gallery will never have the prompt.

The idea is to encourage more tags on images.

You are correct that the tag prompt only shows up on the page where you tag the photo, however, that page is the only page that I have access to where I can expand the photo to get a better look at it for example. On the Memories page it is so small that you can't see any details. Is there another way to expand the image where the tag prompt doesn't show up?

I don't believe tagging a photo that does not have a face in it is good practice.

    Thanks for your help!

I have several pictures of my parents' home and as such I will tag them, along with my deceased brother, to the image once I upload it.
