record hints already attached

Leland Moon said: I am tired of clicking on record hints that are already attached. They need to go away if they are attached to someone. On rare occasions they are attached to the wrong people. This is rare. When cleaning up a line this takes up a lot of unnecessary time. We were told in the all hands meeting that this was soon to go away. How come it hasn't?

Paul said: Very rare? I don't think so, Leland. Every week I come across sources attached to the wrong individuals. Sometimes this is the product of an incorrect merge, but other times a careless user has deliberately attached several similar looking sources to a person, presumably in a hope that at least one will refer to their relative!
Incidentally we appear to have a common area of research: the area of north Yorkshire where I believe one of your Moon family married a Stephen Wrightson (a distant relative).0 -

Can you share some links to these? We'd like to review them.

That is when you have attached the first hint that says John Smith was married 4 June 1940 from the city's copy of the marriage registry you want the other three hints that look exactly the same but come from the county's copy of the marriage registry, the duplicate copy of the city's registry, and from the marriage license application to all automatically vanish?
There are more hints that look exactly the same but actually come from different sources than there are hints that did actually come from one source that was indexed more than once.0
