My grandparent is from the Canary Islands, as well as the great and great-great grandparent, but I cannot seem to obtain any information what so ever as no data pops up anywhere-- Canary Islands is made up of a small cluster of islands i.e. archipelago style) with the largest one being Tenerife. There was a HUGE migration from the Canary Islands to Cuba and other Hispanola regions due to the Franco Militia Regime and when you have many Canary Islanders migrating to Cuba, you have to deal with another regime there too. It becomes extremely difficult to obtain ancestor information if one cannot extract anything from the Canary Islands. So how can I get to my ancestors in Canary Islands?
Help- please consider uploading Canary Islands data soon. I have been trying to obtain information from the Canary Islands since 2010 with ZERO success. And how Ancestry can wave a little leaf hint on my Canary Islander ancestors listed in my family tree is beyond me when Family Search (the largest genealogical website information portal) doesn't even have the information! This is truly mind boggling. When I point to the ancestry leaf, it simply states that the ancestor has been listed in a family tree-- well DUH! it is in my family tree so why do I have to even bother enrolling in a worldwide membership?
Family Search--- please help. I see the comments where others claim it as being better than Ancestry but frankly I cannot opine because data for the Canary Islands isn't even available to view.

Currently, because of the pandemic, no crews are in the field capturing records at repositories. Once the pandemic eases and it is safe to send crews back into various countries, I am sure the activity will resume. Also, contractual agreements must be made and in many instances, local restrictions by the custodians adversely impact free availability over the internet.
I have found that Ancestry has many records that FamilySearch does not. FamilySearch has been and continues to have its focus on where its members lived and came from. It is weaker in the Midwestern and Eastern United States than the Allen County Public Library in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
If you know the custodians of the records for which you want access and have spoken to them, and they are willing to have a preservation team come and digitally capture their records, then direct them to the https://www.familysearch.org/records/... page on this site.0
