Can only visibly edit a long message one character at a time

If I am typing a long message (in FamilySearch Messaging) it is very difficult to go back to the top and edit / delete a word. As I delete one character, I am taken back down to the bottom of my message, then have to scroll back up to the word I am editing to delete / amend the next character.
Is this a bug or is there a way I can make the change without having to repeatedly scroll back up the page to see what I am doing? Obviously, it's a real pain having to find my place again so I can complete my deletion / amendment of a word or sentence.
Short messages are okay - just the ones where the message being written is too long to be visible as a whole in the box.

Each time a character was typed (or deleted), the cursor (an apt word in that and now your instance) would jump back to the end of the text.
It is a bug and needs to be fixed.0 -

I'm not sure about when I encountered it earlier in the week, but tonight I created a "test" message", so it was definitely of the "initial" (not response) type.
The problem is exactly as you describe. Funny how these bugs seem to return again, after they have apparently been resolved.0 -
Jeff Wiseman said: The formatting and editing of text in boxes (life sketch, Notes, Discussions, Reasons, etc.) do seem to be VERY prone to being broken again after they are fixed. There was at least one problem I am aware of, where i think it was the manual insertion of line breaks would start getting ignored (or something like that). After the first fix, it was broken and fixed 2 or 3 other times over the last year or two. The handling of those text boxes does seem to be rather unstable at times.0
