That's the Source Linker View, the original record is https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/619... - John is the father of the principal person in that record, "George Bruce, Pennsylvania Deaths and Burials, 1720-1999".
I was about to fulminate once again about hints for records in the USA being proposed against people in Scotland when I thought a bit more - and while it's a bad hint, I'm not certain what the critical flaw is....
The hinted "George Bruce, Pennsylvania Deaths and Burials, 1720-1999" record refers to a George Bruce born in Scotland (abt 1848), whose parents are John and Anna Bruce, born in Scotland.
My GG-GPs are John and Anne Bruce, born in Scotland, who have a son named George, born Scotland, 1873-1941.
So, the names are the same, the birth places are the same. There ought to be more in common before producing a hint - you might think. But since John is a parent of the principal - what more can there be for John himself? So I'm a bit uncertain about how hints for secondary people in a historical record ought to be handled. After all, people do have children who go overseas.
I think that the fatal flaw in the hint is that while my GG-GPs and the secondary couple both have a son named George Bruce, the fatal flaw is that the George Bruce of the hint is not matched against the George Bruce in FSFT who is the son of my GG-GPs. In fact, the Anne/Annie isn't a hint either. Specifically:-
There is no hint against the George Bruce in FSFT.
The two hints against Annie Bruce in FSFT do not include the hinted "George Bruce, Pennsylvania Deaths and Burials, 1720-1999" record.
Of the three people listed in the "George Bruce, Pennsylvania Deaths and Burials, 1720-1999" record, only one (John) generates a hint.
I would suggest (at least, I think I would suggest...) that since the historical record here has a trio of personas; the hinting calculation should look at that trio as a whole in the historical record and in FSFT. Further, at least two of the personas in the historical record should either be attached to, or hinted at, the corresponding profiles in FSFT - unlike here where neither George nor Anne/Annie qualify as hints - so why are we hinting John?
Yes, I am finding it difficult to explain!
PS - I'm about to dismiss the hint.

Adrian Bruce said: Here's my reason for the dismissal of the hint, which is rather more succint than the above:
"John & Annie Bruce did have a son George - however, he died in 1941 not 1894 so can't be a match, therefore the John and Anne in the hinted record can't be the John & Annie in FSFT. "0 -

Thanks for sharing this astonishing Record Hint. Our engineers have investigated it and we believe that our next Hinting release will fix this. We hope to release these improvements in the next 3-6 weeks.0 -
Adrian Bruce said: Thanks Brian. I hope that your next Hinting Release will indeed fix it - because as you may tell, I can explain the reason for dismissal, but putting it in possible software logic (because I simply have to being a former software guy!) is a bit vague!0
