I just checked and the minimum age for an account holder is 8 years old.
Once she is baptized as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she can create her account. The reason I say that she needs to be baptized is because her membership can open up several features that are not available for non-members. She will need her membership number at the time she opens her account.
Her parent(s) will need to be able to confirm and provide permission for her to create her account.
In the meantime, there are a number of activities available on the FamilySearch site for younger children. That is a great place to start under the supervision and with the child's parent(s).
In my personal opinion, your daughter should be able to read and comprehend the material in The Family History Guide (http://thefhguide.com/) for FamilySearch. She can then learn how to effectively use the site and its features and by going through the exercises, she can gain the experience a person needs.
For at least the first while, I strongly recommend that the parent(s) work with her as she goes through this process. Teach her the steps in effectively researching her family and recording the results in her ancestral lines of the tree.0 -
Jeff Wiseman said: In addition to Tom's suggestions, please remember that this FamilyTree database is NOT like Ancestry or others where everyone has their own personal and safe "sandbox" to play in and build trees. This is a single SHARED tree. Everyone that shares a common ancestor all see the same single record in the system that represents him. In fact ANYONE in the system can modify that record. Since there are many records in the tree that have had extensive research, sourcing, and documentation already done on them, someone without experience can easily go through and create a TON of damage in a short time that will take others days or weeks to repair.
Parental guidance is always necessary in these situations0 -

If there could be a restriction in place to limit just who she could access such as her 'Family Members' only I might agree, but otherwise the answer is a polite No. I was on here several years before I dared to make entries, do corrections, merges and in general, start to understand the complexities of this site, and there are still things I won't do until I have learned more.
