Problem / Issue
"FamilySearch" ("Get Satisfaction") 'Feedback' Forum
I have NOT been able (ie, UNABLE) to post in the Forum, using (the latest versions) of 'Google' "Chrome" with "Windows 10", for a couple of Hours now ... !?
Just by chance, I decided to try 'Mozilla' "FireFox" with "Windows 10"; and, luckily, it worked!
Any thoughts or ideas; as to, WHY, I (maybe we) CANNOT post in the "FamilySearch" ("Get Satisfaction") 'Feedback' Forum, using (the latest versions) of 'Google' "Chrome" with "Windows 10", for a couple of Hours now ...!?
Apart from the fact that (in the above 'Image'), I DO NOT appear to be "Signed In"; when, in fact, I am actually "Signed Into" the "FamilySearch" (and, open in other 'Tabs' and 'Windows'; as, normal).

'G'Day', morning, from my 'neck of the woods', from "Down Under".
Long time no speak ...
'Thank You' so much for that ... 'Yes', a real pain ... notice how quiet the "FamilySearch" ("Get Satisfaction") 'Feedback' Forum is, in comparison to normal.
Again, 'Thank You'
Brett
ps: Through 'Mozilla' "FireFox" ... I wonder if that is something to do with the NEW demand on the INTERNET, due to 'Quarantine" and 'self-quarantine' all around the World; then, perhaps, the "co-ordination" between the likes of "FamilySearch" and "Whatever" is the problem/issue.

FYI
Take a look at these two (x2) posts of mine, one in this Forum; and, the other in the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum ...
I wonder if somehow, this; and, they, are all 'connected'/'related' ...
FamilySearch. MyHeritage. What's all of a sudden happened with MyHeritage re SOURCES; &, SAVING them to FamilySearch, now go to "Source Box"
https://getsatisfaction.com/familysea...
WHAT did You DO to this Site?
https://community.familysearch.org/s/...
Just a thought.

Tom Huber said: Could be an act of nature. SLC has experienced a 5.7 earthquake earlier today.
The problem with Chrome and signing into GetSatisfaction has been a problem for me. My case got a response that the problem is being worked on.
I won’t be able to look at the issue until tomorrow when get home, so.... aside from the earthquake.... the temporary issue many have experienced may be related to working on the problem I reported.0 -

'G'Day', morning, from my 'neck of the woods', from "Down Under".
I see that there has been some "Testing", by yourself; and, two (x2) other people (most likely from "GetSatisfaction" itself; as, one being "a community manager for Get Satisfaction") - as Four (x4) post have been, "Added; and, then, "Removed".
I am STILL "Unable" to post in this "FamilySearch" ("Get Satisfaction") 'Feedback' Forum using (the latest versions) of 'Google' "Chrome" with "Windows 10".
I am still ONLY "Able" to post in this "FamilySearch" ("Get Satisfaction") 'Feedback' Forum using 'Mozilla' "FireFox" with "Windows 10".
I COULD probably DO the SAME with 'Microsoft' "Edge" with "Windows 10" (as has been indicated by another participant in this Forum); but, I DO NOT want to use that "Browser".
Are any of those who have, "Tested"; and, "Removed", their post, done so with 'Google' "Chrome" with "Windows 10"?
Just curious.
Brett
ps: I keep forgetting and trying to posting through "Chrome"; and, then, when that "Fails", I have to open another "Browser" (in this case, "FireFox") to do so - what a pain.

'Thank You'
A real pain.
I just keep forgetting each time; and, go and select 'Reply' or "Comment' in "Chrome"!
I 'groan' ...
Luckily, I can "Copy"; and, then, "Paste" in "FireFox" - and 'Reply' or "Comment'.
Again, 'Thank You'.
Must be some 'interesting' problem/issue ...
I would love to know what it turns out to be ...
Brett
ps: What did I tell you ... just did it again ...

Tom Huber said: Firefox does not have the problem, but it continues to be a problem with Chrome on a Windows 10 computer. I've also verified that the problem also occurs with Windows 7 computers (now no longer supported by Microsoft).
The problem for me (I'm currently using Firefox to post this) started with the new "top menu" used for this site. For a bit of time, it impacted the iPad is used with Safari (not the mobile app), but that may have been related to what you, Brett, are experiencing.
The bigger problem is that the SIGN IN, when used from Get Satisfaction, does not return to Get Satisfaction but stays in FamilySearch.
In my opinion, FamilySearch needs to abandon the use of the new "top menu" for this site unless they specifically modify the SIGN IN to return to Get Satisfaction, or fix the problem with Chrome and whatever cookies are set up.0 -
Tom Huber said: This may explain why the problem occurs: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/d...0

Travis Nelson said: To fix this you will need to go to the URL bar in Chrome and type chrome://flags
Then in the search bar type SameSite.
This will bring up three cookie items.
Set all three to disabled, and it will prompt you to restart Chrome.
After a restart, the feedback link will work. See Link for Image.

Firstly, "Welcome" to this "FamilySearch" ( "GetStaisfaction" ) 'Feedback' Forum.
Secondly, "Official 'FamilySearch' Representatives", do monitor; and, sometimes, participate in, this Forum.
Thirdly, I am just another User/Patron, just like yourself (and, happen to be a Member of the Church).
Many Users/Patrons who regularly participate in this Forum who have a great deal of knowledge and experience with "FamilySearch", like to assist/help other Users/Patrons like yourself.
Finally, 'Thank You' for that advice; but, that looks "... scary ..." ...
I took a 'look' at the 'Image' in your "Reply".
What does it all mean?
[ Layman's terms please! ]
I will like it if it work; but, am a little concerned ...
Again, 'Thank You'; and, 'Thank You' in advance.

I am an engineer at FamilySearch and was tasked with fixing this issue.
Chrome now only delivers cookies marked 'SameSite=None' if they are also marked 'Secure'.
Have a good night.

'Thank You' so much for the information that you are part of "FamilySearch".
Perhaps, if that fact was appended against your 'Name" (or, you had opened with that in your "Reply"), I would have been a little less concerned.
I had not idea if you were, (1) just another User/Patron; or, (2) possibly someone from "GetSatisfaction" (the Principle, rather than from "FamilySearch"); or, (3) one with 'nefarious' intent.
As an aside, just as a thought, if you can, can you append something like, "FamilySeach", "Engineer"; or, "Personnel", against you 'Name'; and, you should ALSO appear in the "Official Representatives" participating in a 'Post'.
I see that 'Amy' has tried your fix; and, it works.
Once, again, 'Thank You' so much.
And, 'Thank You' so much for ALL your efforts (and, those of you colleagues at "FamilySearch").
By the way ... it is morning here in my 'neck of the woods' ... from 'Down Under".
But, in your case over in "Utah', have a good afternoon/evening.
All the best

"THANK YOU' ... 'Thank You' ... 'thank you' ...
It worked ...
Good One ...
I apologize for the delay, in my use, of your "Fix".
I was working on someone in "Family Tree"; and, was on a roll - I did not want to 'jinx' myself.
Plus, I was also checking out the local News, this morning, from my State, "Down Under" - Restrictions getting tighter [eg. even, State 'Border(s)' Closings] in this COVID-19 'Pandemic' - like everywhere around the Work.
The resulting "Warning" after the "Relaunch" is ... "Scary"!
Again, 'Thank You'

FYI
That "Fix" that you recommended, for the problem/issue of this post of mine, ALSO seems to have addressed/fixed the problem/issue in relation to this OTHER post of mine.
FamilySearch. MyHeritage. What's all of a sudden happened with MyHeritage re SOURCES; &, SAVING them to FamilySearch, now go to "Source Box"
https://getsatisfaction.com/familysea...
"THANK YOU' ... 'Thank You' ... 'thank you' ...
Today, for the first time, since I had actioned that "Fix" of yours, I went to attach a "Source" from "MyHeritage" to an individual/person in "Family Tree" of "FamilySearch" ...
And, ... It Worked, as it should have, as it has done so previously ...
In "MyHeritage" the act to "Attach source to FamilySearch" opened a New 'Tab', which this time was, again, the "Create and Attach Source" to an individual/person appeared, rather than the recent, "Save Source to FamilySearch Source Box" appearing.
Again, "THANK YOU' ... 'Thank You' ... 'thank you' ...
Brett
ps: I had an (uneducated) feeling that the two (x2) problems/issues were 'intertwined' ...

Tom Huber said: Yes, I noticed the same inconsistency with respect, not only to FamilySearch login, but even to the GetSatisfaction login. However, the signin for GetSatisfaction needs to be consistent with the signed in status for the user and GetSatisfaction.0
