American Ancestors is an external site like Ancestry, Find My Past, MyHeritage, and so on. You create the source citation yourself or use a citation creation tool to do so and post the created citation to your source box where it can be attached to persons in your ancestral lines.
Be sure to cite the original source document and not American Ancestors, which is really just the repository.
A tool used to create sources is something that people have mentioned in the past, but since I don't use it, I don't have a link to it.0 -
Jeff Wiseman said: Tom, are you referring to "RecordSeek"? It works like a bookmark in your browser, and when you are on the web page for a source, by selecting the bookmark you can create a source citation based on the webpage and at the same time either load that source citation into your source box in FS, or attach it to a specific person or persons source list(s) in FS. Info is available at:

Jeff Wiseman said: Yes, you can create source citations to specific American Ancestors record pages and place those citations into your source box in FS. One of the more convenient ways to do this is to use the third party tool "RecordSeek". Info is available at
