Not a match...why?

Merlene Juergens said: Often I find a hint or a merge that has been marked 'not a match' by another patron, but I can't find the reason it has been marked as such. I would really like to be able to consider that reasoning. Where do I find that?

    Jeff Wiseman said: *IF* the person actually entered a reason for dismissal, it would be showing on that event in the change history log (i.e. Show all changes). It also shows on the dismissed Help under the Dismissed Helps tab of the Show All Research Helps.

    If you don't see it in those places*, then they did not enter a reason (which is extremely common)

    *Note that there is currently appears to be a bug that in very rare cases may prevent a reason that was entered from being properly saved:

    gasmodels said: This is my personal opinion, but I think some users want "their record" to be in Family Tree so they mark duplicates as "not a match" and in the past they would delete duplicate records rather than merge. I know it is not everyone but there are a few who somehow believe they or their entries are significantly more important than other entries.

    The reasoning behind not wanting to take the time to enter their reasoning is that it is obvious why they did what they did. It may be obvious to them, but very few, if any, of us are mind readers.
