Living Persons and My Private Space

Dan Bergenthal said: When I add a living person, that person is placed in a private space and only I can see or edit this person. Over the years, I have added many living persons on my direct and collateral lines. My request is that FamilySearch add a menu item, similar to "Temple" at the top of the screen, that allows users to see all persons that they have added as living. This would be very useful since I don't remember all of the names I've added since many are on collateral lines and I don't personally know them. With this new feature, I (and everyone else) will be able to visit these people/records regularly and then do additional research to determine if these persons are still living or not. This will help remove duplicates in the system.
Thank you!
Thank you!

Jeff Wiseman said: Not being critical here at all, but one minor point of terminology is that the ONLY living people that you can see are the ones that you created. At present, nobody else can see the records of living people in your private space.
So the list name in Gordon's example (a great idea!) has a name that is redundant. It might be better titled something like "Living People in my Private Space" or some such.0 -
Gordon Collett said: Sorry, I can't resist pointing out with a smile: One's private space does not have any deceased people so maybe the title should just be "My Private People."0

Jeff Wiseman said: Doh!!
I knew that title would be too long (and STILL redundant :-)
Ok, how about "My Private Space People"? It'll likely all have to change once they work out the details for sharing private spaces though.
And where do we put the "Discussions I've Created" list?0 -

Likewise, not being critical here at all, but one minor point of terminology is that the "Living" individuals/persons that you can see, NOT only includes those that you "Created" yourself; but, also includes the "Duplicates" of those "Living" immediate Family members that were "Created" by "FamilySearch" with the implementation of "Private Spaces" in 2014.
For example, I did not "Create" the "Duplicates" of my "Living", Spouse; and/or, Children, in "Family Tree", the "System" (ie. "FamilySearch) did that.
Just keeping it real.
Now ...
With the aforementioned in mind ...
How about ... "LIVING people in MY Private Spaces".
By the way, I love that additional "List" of "Discussions I've Created", not before time - "FamilySearch", when can we expect it? (... 'Tongue in Cheek'. Hm!)

Jeff Wiseman said: Heh! That was the redundancy that Gordon and I were bantering back and forth. A person's private space only contains living people. Hence my suggestion of "My Private Space People"
However, I'm glad you mentioned about the pre-populated people on a member's new account. I've not experienced that. Originally a few years back I asked my wife what her PID number was. From that I was able to link to her PID and I could see all of the information that she had put there. Sometime later when the private spaces were introduced, I was still linked to a profile for her, but the PID had changed. Obviously when they did the change over, the owner of the account was the only one allowed to access their original PID, and everyone else that was linked to it were detached and then attached to a duplicate of that PID which the system had created in support of the private spaces.0 -
Bryce Roper said: We have this on our road map to add a tab under Lists to provide a list of all the living people you have added in the tree. We plan to start building this in April. At the same time we will be beefing up the other lists that already exist to make them more useful.0

Gordon Collett said: Wonderful! I hope the title you come with is better than our attempts!0

'Thank You' for joining in of this post.
That is EXCELLENT news.
Having specific separate "List" of those "Living" individuals/persons in our "Private Spaces" under our "Watch" Lists WILL be GREAT.
Starting ti 'build' that new "List" is April - we cannot wait, please do not forget to let us know when that new "List" is implemented in the "Beta" ( "Test" ) Environment; so that, we can 'check it out' and get the 'feel for it'; and, be able to get you some 'feedback'.
Can you give us some 'Hints' (ie. a 'heads-up'), as to what 'Beefing up' of the ONLY two (x2) existing "Lists":
(1) "PEOPLE I'M WATCHING"; and,
(2) "CHANGES TO PEOPLE I'M WATCHING",
is being considered.
Again, 'Thank You'; and, EXCELLENT news.

Although tangential to this topic, I do want to ask if you know whether or not any plan for adding a "list of the discussions" for discussion that you have created and can no longer find so that you can do maintenance on them?0 -
Dan Bergenthal said: Bryce - this is excellent news! Thank you so much for responding! I look forward to the updates!

My Contributions allows users to see a list of persons in your private space.

As @Miss Jessie said, you can find this in "Family Tree" -> "My Contributions" -> "Private People". Here's a direct link to that page: https://www.familysearch.org/tree/contributions/private
