MEA Genealogist said: Please could familysearch add some more English records for indexing from South Africa, preferably Transvaal Civil Records, as there are minimal South African records left for indexing at the moment.

S. said: sorry to say it would be nice, but the church and Others indexing must get contracts with the Countries, so you better pray they do.0

MEA Genealogist said: The Church already has the records on microfilm. And there are South African records that have images but no indexes yet.0

S. said: true, They have them on Film, but they must still work out some contracts with them. the reason why they must still work out some type of contracts is because of what is written in the deals of when they filmed the records. I don't know the whole process of how the records get online , but I do know some of it. so in other words if you want more records, I guess will have to pray that they can be opened to the Public and not just on Film. Their is many steps in the process to put them on line, The church just can't put them online, for many reasons, and I don't know them all. So A better way of saying it is Just start Praying and Hoping they come soon.0

S. said: true to your points, but they have them on film, how ever they have a process and protocol to put things on the site, so My thought is pray and hope it happens.0

Tim De Graw said: I'm happy to report you'll see up to four new South African indexing projects go live within in a couple of weeks (look for the last week of June).
Thank you for your efforts!0 -
MEA Genealogist said: I don't think we have seen any new South African projects yet. Also many of the Orange Free State death notice batches have been indexed and arbitrated 100% and disappeared from the available projects under indexing, but they have not been uploaded for searching as far as I can see?? Any further news on this?0
