Hello @DeniseWatson95 DeniseWatson95 and welcome! Here is a link that will hopefully have the answers you’re looking for 😃 My basic understanding of the “life sketch” area is that it is used to post details about the persons life, achievements etc. kinda like a biography except it’s condensed into however many characters are allowed 😂

In the tools section on the right hand side - you may see a "delete person" option

    that would work

but you should only use this option if it is a person you yourself created

and even then - Im guessing what happend was you linked them in the wrong way so that it is the relationship that is wrong and not so much the person. correcting relationships without deleting the person is a bit trickier.

Is the person alive or deceased?

Martha Eggleston person pageYou cannot delete a person, only a relationship. Let me re-state that. You can delete a person only if you are the person who put them in, such as when you enter a person into Family Tree and then realize they were already in there. Now, back to deleting a relationship. You do this by clicking on the icon that looks like a pencil on top of a piece of paper. You can delete them from both parents or just one. They are still in the Tree somewhere and can be retrieved by you or anyone else by using the "Find" option under "Family Tree" at the top of the home page or a person's page.

I am showing you a sample from my own tree, but I'm new at putting images on, so bear with me. The first image is at the top of this answer. Martha Eggleston does not belong to these parents.

Ignore this image for now. It doesn't belong here.

This is what shows when I click the little pencil & paper icon to edit a relationship.

Deleting Martha from parents This is what shows when I click on "Remove or Replace."Deleting Martha from parents 2

Keep in mind the main intent here is to build your family tree here within FamilySearch Family Tree. Also realize that any living persons you enter will only be viewable by yourself. Only deceased people in your family tree will be viewable part of a single collaborative database that we all share. The "life sketch" is a field that all person records have in the system. Most people would leave the "Life Sketch" for their own record as blank - but would be entering a life sketch for each record of their deceased ancestors etc. It is an optional field. and to a large degree you can populate it how you wish. (a biographical summary of the person)

Also, probably one of the best resources available (imo) is the fsresearch wiki located here:

and here at The Family HistoryGuide a great source for all levels: https://www.thefhguide.com/

Sorry we can’t give you a better answer😬 but from what I understand, the “life sketch” area of FS is pretty much user defined... but hopefully the links we provided earlier will help guide you 😊 also, FS community is a great place to come when you have questions. Someone is almost always here and willing to help. Lots of very friendly and knowledgeable people who’s experience ranges from “brand new” to “expert”. So feel free to ask for assistance with anything. :)
