Hi @Kim-N-Charlene. To adjust the portrait photo, first click on the photo next to the person's name. A camera icon should appear as you hover over it. Then select the photo you want to display and adjust the picture so that the person's face is within the selection circle. You may need to click and drag the photo, or change the zoom, to do so. Click the save button when the circle is centered correctly, and then the profile should update with the newly framed photo within a few seconds or so.

I think you are working with an image attached to a Story….Correct?
If you ARE working with an image attached to a Story, then you are experiencing a known issue.
Here's what's happening with these images. When you open a Story that has an image/Memory attached to it, the image is enlarged to fit the full space above the Story. The image is oriented to focus on the CENTER of the image, which is why the top half appears can appear to be cut off. (I know, this can be annoying for me as well!)
All I can really offer for an answer is. . . This is working as designed. Engineers are aware. There might be a change coming, but no promises.
See this and other Known Issues for the Memory tools in the Memory Feedback Group.

I saw many times in my working life in IT that 'working as designed' doesn't necessarily actually mean 'working', unfortunately.

Thats why I personally dont use the stories with photos attached option.
Rather I create a pdf file with the background story in text and with the images in the exact order and size and position that I determine and no one can change. all the images stay in the same order I placed them - and can be accompanied by any textual information.0
