Hi, I tried to assist a new patron with setting up a Family Search account. She does not have an email address so we tried to enter her mobile phone number but when we added +64 (for New Zealand) an error message said this country is not supported. There are no alternative recovery methods so we were unable to proceed. What can be done?

Thanks

Wendy

I am not connected with FamilySearch

It seems likely @WendyWalmsley that you are in New Zealand.

The usual advice given seems to be that if you are not In USA you need to contact your local area using the contact emails or personal interview links given in https://www.familysearch.org/en/fieldops/asia-pacific-contact-us

@WendyWalmsley I know it's not ideal but could the user not set up a free email account, e.g. gmail, just for FS purposes?

There have been a few reports of problems creating new accounts. The engineers are working on it. Your best option, for now, is to contact telephone support.
