Change dates to other languages
Just as you so cleverly made it possible to choose which spouse's tree to show, where there are multiple spouses, I am hoping that you will be able to do the same with dates. Is it possible to choose which language for dates to appear. I have a very distant cousin who seems to be very angry that all dates are not in his language, and appears to think I do this on purpose. So if I put a date in, in English, I am hoping there is a way for the date to show in anyone else's chosen language when they look at the same page.
Thank you for all of your amazing ideas and making it possible to search for my ancestors in my home, I am very grateful for your hard work and amazing computer skills.

As long as a date has been standardized (which is almost always the case), if you hover your mouse pointer over a date, then a little box will appear showing the standardized date in the language that the FamilySearch site is shown in. That's not quite as nice as if all dates were immediately shown in that language, but hopefully it helps somewhat.

Dates _are_ translated -- in the background.
It's just the display value that stays as entered. Unfortunately, that's exactly the only thing that a user like the one you describe will ever notice, so he will continue to change perfectly good dates into his idea of a correct date.
My suggestion is to let him. You can try to explain to him about background ("standardized") values versus display values, and about hovering over a display value to see the background value in a tooltip, but let him have his display values. You can just check the tooltip if needed.

The displayed dates do not change, @Tiffany Farnsworth Nash, as Julia explained above.
