New Viewer Issue, Records Disappear

What specifically caused the index for Moses Hardy to be edited in the past? Just a belief that something on this index was inaccurate?
And is it really wise to prevent an index from being edited again simply because it was edited in the past, even if the past edit was reasonable/accurate and not abusive/inaccurate?

@DanielGonik, your question presupposes that the editing gremlin is on purpose. It very, very much isn't.

@Maile L Can you please give us some updated feedback or status about this one?
Do you have access to the internal issue tracker of the developers?
Can we have another way to communicate?
It is super relevant and critic.
Thanks!

@DanielGonik As I said it is a known problem with the new Viewer/Editor
That means it is not a good thing.
To your questions, one can only reply "Who knows?" None of us do. After months of reporting the problem, we hear that the engineers are aware, and we hope a fix is coming.

@Maile L Do you have any idea when 'Known Issues' might get implemented? Thanks.

I am in contact with FS persons working on the fix. They have discovered even more bugs and are working on it. Am told it will be about another week or so before the fix will roll out. I think that will be the fix to insure no more FS archives are corrupted (hidden) by the FS editor. My understanding is that fixing (making visible) all currently corrupted archives may take longer. In the mean time dont follow the instructions to delete your existing links, they will all work again once the databases are made visible again.

I've seen this several times over the past few days with the 1950 census. No record and unable to dismiss.

Thanks, Aine! I just find it interesting because I personally previously made a correction to another WWI draft registration card, and it can still be searched for, unlike Moses Hardy's: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:KZ8P-KRC

IF the fix is implemented, as has been promised, the record for Moses Hardy should be findable again in the future.

The most likely explanation is the known problem with the new viewer/editor. When an index is edited, the little monster inside that viewer/editor hides the index, and the record cannot be found in a search. We are told engineers are aware of the problem and that a fix is coming. A thread on the subject.

It sounds to me like the index editor gremlin struck again.
Sometimes, when an index is edited, it becomes unavailable. Nobody is really sure why.
Here is a thread on the topic:

I have merged more discussions about this known issue into this main conversation.

This is just to comment that ALL my records were fixed. No more dead records as sources.
This is good news.
