Using FamilySearch.org and Ancestry in tandem/linked
I am utterly amazed at the number of LDS that do not have their familysearch.org account linked to Ancestry. Those that do don't seem to know how to toggle back and forth between the two, although Ancestry and Familysearch.org have made it easier and easier to work the programs together. I have watched many training videos but I haven't found one, really good one to recommend. It seems like the church may be shying away from showing preference to one genealogical program over another? If the members were aware of how much easier the two programs have made family history work, I think more would participate. I hear all too frequently, "I don't have time" "It's too hard".

Shows how this can be done.

I am not an LDS member, but in my mind your statement can be broadened to say that most serious researchers would benefit by using both systems in tandem when researching. They are both exceedingly good systems and have massive collections of sources or other customized research aids. I keep my family trees in Ancestry mirrored in FamilySearch.
