Timeline for Grouping of New Ideas
I would like to suggest that a timeline for Ideas be implemented for ideas. This would show how long ideas have suggested and when the ideas were implemented
Currently, there are 709 ideas with the earlies date of 11 November 2011.
The following could be categories to the the idea:
Is this a valid idea? Would comments to the idea be a solution? Has the idea been implemented?
Thanks for your time.

How is that a timeline (which indicates dates rather than types or status) and how does it differ from your previous suggestion of categories?

What would be the purpose for having such? We users are neither designers or programmers for the site and really have no idea what future changes are in store for the site or whether any idea we post here fits in with that road map. I would assume the designers actually do have a list of ideas they want to include in the site and some of those may have come from here but I really don't think it would be worth the design team's time to maintain some list of user ideas and either grade them or explain why or why not they will ever be used.
Regarding those 709 idea, any that were posted more than two years ago probably have no applicability to the current website in view of the major updates to it over the past couple of years.

The timeline concept and the categories associtated with them are a "natural" part information techicnology concept.
The Categories concept is already part of FamilySearch Help.
Dates and categories "should be" part of a "Suggeste Idea".
When you have 709 ideas that dated back to November 2011, question needs to be asked: "Are these ideas?
Do these 709 ideas need to be segragated to the FamilySearch Help category? Have any of these ideas been implemented?
What are "ideas" and what are "questions or comments" related to FamilySearch?
The FamilySearch Header for Ideas state:
Help Us Improve!
The more detail you can provide the better. You can even include screenshots if it helps explain your idea.
Consider copying and pasting the following prompts to help guide your response.
- What are you trying to accomplish? Why?
- What is the challenge or roadblock you are encountering?
- What is your idea?
- How would solving this challenge improve your experience?"

As I've mentioned before, there have been numerous posts in the Suggest an Idea category that are not ideas.
I doubt seriously that FamilySearch has the resources or sees a need to go back through 10+ years of random posts. It's not something we users can or should do.

Then...it begs the question...why does FamilySearch have the category "Suggest and Idea"?
If FamilySearch is only in the "business" of answering questions or providing feedback to patrons then don't expect the category of Ideas to be used.
As a matter of fact, delete the category Ideas and put the 709 comments into the FamilySearch Help categories.
Note: I am a user and there are thousands of users.
Note: Please delete me from the community....that is all....
