Categories for Ideas
I would like to suggest categories be established for ideas generated by patrons submitting ideas; such as, coding for a functional adjustment to FamilySearch; related to FamilySearch but not considered a programmer redevelopment; not related to FamilySearch but related to a to basic Function of FamilySearch; General Ideas to questions related to FamilySearch; General questions and answers submitted by patrons; research and development for future implementation.
Thank you for your time.

While such Categories are interesting, I'm not sure who you envisage should have the job of categorising ideas. It would be unlikely that the creator of the idea will know the difference between coding and not-coding, for instance. It would be lovely for the technical guys to do such an update - however, those of us around here for some time tend to feel that technical participation from FS has dropped off a cliff over the last few years. (Sorry if that sounds like an old-timer's moans but I'm afraid it's a real issue).

The only categorization for suggestions that I wish we had was "LDS-specific" versus "everything else" -- and even that I'd have little hope of everyone following.
Specific to these suggested categories, I consider myself reasonably computer-savvy, but I have absolutely no idea what "programmer redevelopment" is, and I'm not certain what is meant by "coding for a functional adjustment", either.

"technical participation from FS has dropped off a cliff over the last few years"
Time to time the engineers will have to state their explanations.
