Could the "relationship-finder algorithm" be adjusted to exclude non-biological parents?
This is not a personal issue of mine, but I became aware of the problem when contacting another user. I had added his ancestor (born illegitimately) as a stepchild of the man her mother later married. However, this has led to the descendant receiving unwanted contact from descendants of the stepfather!
I could advise no option than to remove the child (and her twin brother) from this step relationship, so they just show beneath their biological mother on their Details pages.
I know all relationships are considered of importance by many Family Tree users (especially Church members), so I did feel it a shame to separate these children from their stepfather. However, my contact was insistent he did not want to be contacted by those connected with the stepfather (who were getting the impression he was biologically related to them), nor receive any FamilySearch notifications to this effect.
I assume detaching them from the stepfather was the only option, in these circumstances, and the relationship calculations do not differentiate between biological or step parents.

@Paul W This is also a problem in the famous relatives and the Rootstech "Are we Related?" algorithms. It would be a good fix in both those places too.
It affected me with Rootstech, because two of the top 3 relatives closest were descended from foster, not biological parents of a great grandmother.
