@Linda5736 There is nothing to order. The image of the record will be at the URL I provided in my first comment. Free and color - just download it.

Done! Thank You.

Yes I agree with GusRT. Your user print option is not functional. I hope Family Search revises the print options available to users in the very near future.

I hope the print record option is fixed at some point for records that I can't get the original digital for. When I do try to print, all the info gets squished to the left and turns into several awkward pages. I've tried messing with the settings but nothing has fixed this for me. It's a waste of paper and hard to read.
So, what I've been doing in the meantime (mac os), is using "copy full record" (in the same menu as "print record") and pasting that into my Notes app. From there I can format and save out as a PDF or print it.

I’ve been having a similar problem for over six months. I print the record and some of the columns are only eight characters wide. As well, some columns/sections print over each other making it difficult to read the document.
I had seen this in a previous posting, but the posting was gone the next day when I went to respond. This is very frustrating and when I emailed the Family Search team, they just sent me instructions on basic printing.
About a week ago I began having the pages coming out with the header on one page, but the content on the 2nd and 3rd pages.
I use Google Chrome to view and print Family Search records, but I have tried Mozilla Firefox and MS Edge as well. Both of those have the same issue.

How to print a record for a marriage without all the crazy other things running all over the page?

There have been a few threads on problems with printing. It's one area that needs significant improvement, in my opinion.
I've been using a screenshot as a workaround if I need a printout of the FS page.
@lyleblunttoronto1 is this in your bailiwick or can you direct to someone who is working on the problem? Thanks.

Hi guys. Please know that this has been reported for review. I promise that I will get back when I hear something.
In the mean time, the best work around I have found is to take a screenshot of the historical record abstract and then print or save that. I love to use the snipping tool (Snip & Sketch came with my system). Another option is to highlight the information on the screen and copy it to a Word type doc. That would save ink when printing, I would think.
I merged several conversations about the mess that occurs when you print a historical record or save it as a PDF.

According to the dates in this thread this problem has been going on since at least October 2022. So nothing has been done to fix this for 7 months. I too am experiencing the jumbled up pdfs like the screen shots others provided. I noticed this several months ago. So if it used to work, then why can't they just undo the updates that broke it? I need legible digital copies of the indexes to put in my personal tree when there is no document or if the document is in another language. I want to keep the proof that I found where it is easy for me to see again if I need it just in case it. I am using Chrome and windows 10 that are both updated.

@K S D said: Print pages changed.
Top menu lines & (print & Share buttons images are removed.) Thank You
Now the print is too large
Columns too Narrow
Too much white space between lines
Now makes 2 (with extra white space at bottom) to 3 pages with extra white space and only 1 line on the last page
"Other People on This Record" is still mixed in the Indexed Historical Record information instead of at the bottom of the page.

The Print Record issue has been improved.

Let me try to illustrate. I have some saved printouts of extracts/indexes. I work digitally. I use a virtual print program to print from almost any website. I can instruct the program to save as an image or as a PDF. I can also watermark. The visible result is the same as printing to paper.
This example is from a few years ago, and the page was formatted letter size in landscape. The result is a nice clean copy of the index/extract.
To get something reasonably comparable, today, with the same record. I have to format to Tabloid size, instruct the virtual printer to ignore background graphics, and to only print the 1st page to avoid having a 2nd page that shows only the URL.
Before printing, access the blue setting icon on the Print Record option, under Save, and deselect most of the options to have a readable result.

I don't want to edit and risk all my images turning into blue backgrounds with hourglasses. I used Chrome on Windows 10 for that example. Firefox is my preferred browser, but printing from FamilySearch in Firefox can be problematic.

For comparison, here's that 1930 census from @lyleblunttoronto1's comment. Also tabloid size printout. A reasonable workaround if you work digitally. Not great if you are printing to paper.
