I'm really struggling here. I located Karen Marie Sorensdatter in the 1787 and 1801 census with her Father Soren Jensbye/Andersen in Lille Hillerslev Bye. I have looked as the complete 1787 and 1801 census for Hillerslev and cannot locate Christen Pedersen. Christen is in the 1834 Census in Bruno Bye with Soren and Kirsten. He is in the 1840 census with Soren and the 1845 census with an unknown person. I cannot located him anywhere before 1834 with certainty. I am uncertain if the linked 1804 marriage record is actually his but it is the only marriage record I can find for a Christen Pedersen and a Karen Marie Sorensdatter in Thisted amt. In the 1845 census it says Christen Petersen was born in Hillerslev, it's the only census to indicate a birthplace. His birth year of 1765 is consistent across the records I have located.
Christen is 22 years older than Karen, is this something that is normal for the early 1800's in Denmark?
Why would they go to Lyngs to get married? Is that something that couples did? I have also looked through the marriage records in Hillerslev without luck.
Christen is not in the deaths for Hillerslev, he was 80 in the 1845 census and not found in the later census.
Is there some source I'm missing?

Widower Christen Christensen and Karen Marie Sørensdatter married on 19. dec 1813 Hillerslev Parish Arkivalieronline (sa.dk)
The baptism record of Søren Christian Christensen says 'Faderens mindelige Navn er Christen Christensen'
The daughter Kirsten Marie Christensen *1. July 1818 - the father is 'Huusmand Christen Pedersen' eller rettere Christensen' Hillerslev Church book Arkivalieronline (sa.dk). Some of the witnesses are Karen Marie's siblings, right? Who is Anne Marie Christensdatter?

Thank you so much for your response, it is very helpful.
Can you explain "mindelige Navn" which seems to translate to friendly name. I'm guessing as there are a bunch of Christen Pedersens in Hilerslev around this time that maybe it is a familiar name, one he would go by around the village to differentiate him from the other Christen Pedersens? Maybe his father is Peder Christensen so he was using Christen Christensen? I do not know who Anne Marie Christendatter is, maybe she is a sister or daughter from previous marriage?
Kim
